The Official Grado 325i Owners Club.

I received a new pair of SR325is yesterday.  They are the painted version purchased from Amazon.  Serial number is 18312.  These are my first pair of full size Grados.  I already had a set of iGrados that I like very much.  The SR325is are going to take some getting used to.  Everything I'd read about these phones is true.  They are in-your-face, bold, harsh, shrill, etc.  Pick your adjective.  I am hopeful that, with time, they will mellow out some.  I am listening through a Woo Audio WA6 tube amp.

I also own 325is's/WA6, and I'm using S/P 274B with Syvania 6SN7WGTA's or Mullard GZ34 with GE 6FD7's and I had the 325's on last night and they are a full bodied excellent headphone…a little darker than my 80i's/RS1i's, but I find  (and never did) that they are not harsh/shrill in anyway what so ever. Give them plenty of burn-in time and they will settle down and be nicely balanced…mine are over 1a year old and only get better and better. Congratulations, enjoy!

Surprising to read anyone that thinks the 325s are darker than 80s or RS1s... Most people tend to think the 325s are by far the brightest of the Grados

Yeah, no way did I ever feel that they were bright in anyway from day one, and I do realize most people agree that they are the brightest Grado. Maybe I just got a strange pair but, they compliment my 80's/RS's very, very well…so much that I need to get reacquainted with their sound signature when I listen too them. I actually prefer them out of all of my Grados for classic rock, being that they sound so full, and have, IMO the fullest body/bass.

I do not own my 325is anymore, I liked them a lot....they were not to bright for me at all.....but they were not at all dark, either.

Thanks Joseph.  In no way am I giving up on the 325is.  I have been burning them in all day today and they'll be busy all night too.
