Pioneer SX-1250 Receiver Problems......
Hi all, I've got an old Pioneer SX-1250 that I'm having problems with. I'm not entirely sure what's going on, but it outputs for about a minute before I hear a "click" and then the signal going dead. This happens regardless of what the input is. I've noticed that at louder volumes (~11...- vwap

Bookshelf Speakers with a Pioneer Receiver...
Hey All, I've got a Pioneer SX-1250 that I'm planning on using with a pair of speakers, but I don't know which ones? I picked this unit up for free from a friend, so I don't know a huge amount about it. I've heard that it's one of the better vintage Pioneer amps. Now then, I've looked...- vwap

Carmina Burana Recommendations?
After listening to a DVD-A version of Orff's Carmina Burana this past weekend, I'm looking to get a good redbook recording of it. Does anyone have any recommendations of good Carmina Burana recordings? Conductor/Performers/Label and possibly a Catalog Number would be helpful. Also, why do... -

Car maintenence....
I'm curious, other than the oil change every 3000 miles, what other routine maintenence should I be performing on my car? Since I purchased it, I've only changed the oil, oil filters, air filters.. and done nothing else to it... but I hear I'm supposed to be doing some maintenence every 15k...- vwap

Help!: DIY RCA ICs...
Hi All, So I recently went on a DIY IC adventure... Bought some Canare GS-6 and some Canare F-10s (All they had around or something..). Anyhow, so I soldered the signal wire to the center connector on all the RCAs and folded the ground over the shield on all four... It's continuous on each...- vwap

Binaural CDs...
Alright.. so this is sorta rehashing an age-old discussion.. Where can I get binaural CDs now that binaural.com is out of business? I've ordered the From the Cave CD, the two AUracle CDs, and two others from Tower, but past this, I really can't find any more binaural CDs. Anyone know... -
Headphone Extension and IC Cable...
I think this has been discussed a few times, but I can't get a good consensus on what's good, what'll fit, etc, so here goes. I'm planning on buying some Canare 4E6S cable. Is this the 'Star-Quad' that everyone refers to? Is it good cable? I'm planning on using this for both ICs and a...- vwap

Cable static...
So I have a Grado 15-foot extention.. This wasn't happening at first, but now, every time I walk around and if the place where the two cables connect (headphone --> headphone extension) hits the ground.. I get static. Any way to fix this short of buying a new cable?... Thanks- vwap

eBay: NIB Sony D-34, $25.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=15054 While I'm not a big proponent of eBay posting, I figured this one was appropriate, as there is a BIN set at $25 (and a minimum bid of $20). It is very similar to the D-33. Find more information by searching the Portable Audio forum.- vwap

KVM Switches?
Stemming off the recent Linux and Laptop threads... I'm considering perhaps another server system with linux on it. Those dual P3 systems look really tempting. However, as it'd have to be in the corner and I don't have another KVM set around.. can anyone recommend a good KVM switch? I've...- vwap

Anyone used those Sandisk "Ultra" CompactFlash cards?
Just wondering if anyone has used those Sandisk Ultra CompactFlash cards yet.. I'm thinking of buying one, but if the benefit to my camera [Casio QV-3000EX] is negligible, then it wouldn't be very cost effective to go with a Ultra as opposed to, say, a larger card. Thanks much- vwap
