Hey does anyone have issues with battery drain? When it's on standby, it loses significant power. Even when powered off, it went down to 85% while plugged in to my battery bank that shut off after recharging to 100%. Maybe I have a bad unit? Or my settings aren't set correctly?- vokain

Pretty straightforward. Load SD card in with music, plug in, play. I recommend Musicolet as an app. I don’t like the Hiby app I also prefer taking the card out to transfer files. Using the Hiby m300 as a card reader is slower- vokain

Because you don’t lose quality really upsampling from there as I think 48 fits in 192, but you do when you downsample from 192, as is the case with some of my music. I think you may have some degradation going from 44.1khz to 192khz because they’re not perfectly divisible. I don’t really know...- vokain

FWIW, I’m really happy with Musicolet. Fully featured app, well designed. Better than PowerAmp. I actually got a refund from PowerAmp because you can’t batch edit multiple songs’ tags which is absurd I bought Musicolet afterwards to support multiple artist tagging- vokain

Interesting and helpful perspective from a sound engineer's standpoint. I would argue that the nonpresence of UHF components also influences your brain. Why do you say 48/24? Is this because of the nature of some processing (I'm unfamiliar) in noise-cancelling near-to-sound-source mics, as...- vokain

I do want to note that research shows that while high frequencies may be inaudible consciously, there are measurable effects on EEG activity that come from such high frequencies. I'm not so sure about that. I will note that originally when I downloaded the album, the Artist and Album Artist fields were "Allman Brothers Band", but I changed it on my computer to "The Allman Brothers Band" before transferring and Hiby still has a problem with the Album Artist tag with that...- vokain

Yup. Pretty sure it’s how Hiby player parses the library. That one album with “A&R” for some reason sits in “Allman Brothers Band” while every other album sits in “The Allman Brothers Band”. Used Musicolet tag editor to double check directly on the phone too. Such a weird thing I’ve never had...- vokain

Thank you Joe. That makes me happier! The other programs you mention, like Musicolet, do you know if they output to the DAC at 192khz for the purest delivery before the DAC process? Or do they go through android SRC and are downsampled to 48khz or whatever before the conversion? Musicolet...- vokain

Musicolet does not parse my files incorrectly. Everything is where it should be in there. It also seems to have a very likable UI. Hiby has problems parsing symbols in their music library. This shoddy programming certainly reflects with how they do things in general. At lease I wasn't going...- vokain

I don't understand. I got this M300 with the Cirrus CS43131 chip so I could play 32bit 384k audio (24bit 192khz, to be honest) . Why the **** would I need another USB-C DAC- vokain

I was told that other apps wouldn't be bit-perfect, but I guess I just found out a few minutes ago that Hiby isn't either and resamples everything? Musicolet is parsing my library now... will check, but both MP3tag and Swinsian on my Mac report the correct tags for all files.- vokain

Mo' problems with the M300 Hiby player library is having serious problems parsing the tags of some of my songs.
