Breathed new life into the w80 with iFi’s excellent GOpods. The w80 take poorly to other cables but really shine with the GOpods. Can’t imagine another TWS this good.

Blessing 3's came today. I do NOT like them. Uncomfortable. Sibilant. Not very pleasing to listen to. High notes were very fatiguing while listening to a hi-res SACD rip of "Chameleon". I'm not sure if I'm supposed to like earphones that apparently graph well to the Harman curve. I could hear details pretty well (eg cymbals decayed nicely) but they didn't feel good, is what I feel. They may or may not graph well, but the listening experience felt Chinese. :frowning2:

Returning the Moondrop Blessing 3
Will see how the Timeless AE's are when they arrive.

Moondrop Blessing 3 has a FR of 10Hz-30kHz
Westone W80 has a FR of 5Hz-22kHz

Definitely felt like the W80 had better low end and that I could maybe hear more from the high-end in the Moondrop Blessing 3.

The Timeless AE has an FR of 5 Hz – 40 kHz. Shall report back when they arrive next week. Likely to return the W80's as well since the Blessing 3 made me appreciate the seemingly greater detail
How’s your experience so far with the Westone W80-V3? Was the Timeless AE any better?

I recently got the AKG N5005, good all rounder but I might return them and try out the W80-V3 instead.

So, I see that Adorma has the W80 on for $350. I've thought for a while about picking up an all BA set and definitely want something small and travel / sleep friendly. For G Note neither the SE846 or the W80 are worth it to me with all the other gear I;m so happy with but $350..... It's a tempting proposition. Are the W80s still relevant today, or perhaps the better question would be - would you buy it and be happy with it today?

Bought the Mach 80 today here in the UK, just under half price at £748 and a further code brought it down to £711.

Used to really like my UM3x and W4 but that's going back a few years ago now. I don't think I ever found a set of universals that fit so well as my old Westones, that's why I'm giving the Mach 80 a try out at this price.

Try Bondic UV glue - https://www.amazon.com/Bondic-Activated-Waterproof-Resistant-Adhesive/dp/B018IBEHQU/
I've actually used it to create a new nozzle stem on a JH IEM. Superglue might also do in a pinch, just be sure to use one that is safe on plastics.
Thanks, will give this Bondic UV glue a try, seems better than a glob of super glue ending up in the wrong spot and dealing with that. Got a new W80 on sale and so will use the broken iem as a project, less pressure. Nearly need a microscope to as the bits are so small though... good idea, thanks.

That price is probably around where it actually should be IMHO. I'm tempted by the MACH 70 at £648 too. I already have the 80.

Really enjoying the Mach 80, neutral flat sound that is excellent for guitar driven music.
Shines with my N7/C9 combo
