Cayin N6ii, Unlimited Possibilities: a fully modularized smart DAP
I enjoyed E01 too and makes me wonder if R01 (a breakthrough product) would be something I would enjoy. Oh well, time will tell.- chungjun

Cayin N6ii, Unlimited Possibilities: a fully modularized smart DAP
Yeah, as with all portable electronics, ability to find the right / fitting replacement battery cell is crucial. I recall, prior to owning Cayin N6ii, I had to replace one of my portable DAP's battery All it took was an email and the DAP manufacturer manage to hook me up with a replacement...- chungjun

Cayin N6ii, Unlimited Possibilities: a fully modularized smart DAP
Been enjoying my N6ii with E01 + FiR Audio M5 and on a hiatus from Head-Fi for a while... then R01 pique my interest to jump back in. As this is the "final" motherboard for N6ii and Cayin has been putting in considerable effort into making it a success, I hope to listen to it soon and hopefully...- chungjun

flinkenick's 17 Flagship IEM Shootout Thread (and general high-end portable audio discussion)
If driver count is anything to go by, competition will be stiff and it'll be interesting to see how the new SE flagship will have an "EDGE" over hybrid / tri-brid offerings available in the market today.- chungjun

Stumble upon this today... Spiral Ear SE6 EDGE. (https://spiralear.com/se6-edge-custom-iems/) New Spiral Ear flagship. Product description is itself quite enticing. "SE6 EDGE are the most powerful, the most addictive and by the same time the most balanced monitors we have ever created, with...- chungjun

Acoustune Impressions thread
:beerchug: Thanks for sharing. Impresssion, however presented is always a good data point as reference. I'm curious as to what choice of drink you're holding while listening to the Cu and what other drink would that be if you're listening to Ti.- chungjun

Cayin N6ii, Unlimited Possibilities: a fully modularized smart DAP
Same here. I did a "refresh" and realize I needed to "catch up" on the other updates too. Often, for any software update, I would just run another "update" just to ensure I'm at the latest where I want to be.- chungjun

Acoustune Impressions thread
Bold and decisive move! I love a dynamic driver setup too. Had a 1650cu which I quite enjoy when I had it. Sold it and recently got curious again with what Acoustune has to offer. Decided to pick up a 1697ti. Once again, for me the immediate wow factor is "How is this a single dynamic...- chungjun

flinkenick's 17 Flagship IEM Shootout Thread (and general high-end portable audio discussion)
I hear ya. Audio gears can be a very subjective affair. I find it difficult to assess IEM based on short audition. Too many variables involved! To me, audio is mainly a self-discovery journey - trying to see where my taste or preferred signature is. Even this can be a challenging task as it...- chungjun

Cayin N6ii, Unlimited Possibilities: a fully modularized smart DAP
Off the cuff impression:- Settings:- E01 | AB mode | Mid gain | Brickwall filter | OFF for WiFi and Bluetooth With VE8 - perceptible noise can be heard with normal use, volume pot at around 35 to 42. Switching to A mode, it's all quiet. With FiR M5 - no perceptible noise in either AB / A...- chungjun

And... E01 in da hous!!! Got me curious enough to pick one up at retail price (vs resale) to try. Can't fault Cayin on packaging here. It is nicely done! And including that screw driver is a smart and thoughtful move - with it, owners can dive right in to enjoy the purchase rather than...- chungjun

Fir Audio Thread - Discussion and Impressions
FiR Audio's stock cables are solid to begin with. One of the few stock cables that I don't have an urge to swap / tweak (cosmetic or otherwise). If you have a bunch of 2-Pins cables to play with, FiR Audio has RCX-2Pin adaptor (https://www.firaudio.com/store/rcx-2-pin-adaptor) albeit a bit...- chungjun
