Hello, I recently purchased a new telecaster and a used fender hot rod deluxe amp. I'm really in love with it. It's great sound motivates me so much to get better and better at playing the guitar. Anyway, I'm in the market for a foot pedal to throw in the mix. I'm not overly concerned about...- brian183

sigur ros and the life aquatic
Watched the life aquatic last night for the fifth or so time and every time it gets to the scene where they find the jaguar shark I always wonder what the song is that's playing during that moment. Finally remembered to look it up and it's sigur ros-staralflur. I've never listened to sigur ros... -

easiest acoustic guitar make/model to play
I occassionally pick up the guitar and play by myself sometimes around people but in all I really don't play the guitar alot. Right now I own a brownsville electric that's really easy to play (especially with medium gauge fender bullet strings...so nice on the fingers) and an ibanez v70...- brian183

Small Speakers with Big Joe power amp
Hello, I just recently started a great new job at an advertising agency as a developer. It's a small environment with no more than 10 people working there. Very relaxed and liberal environment. I think I have a great future there. Anyway, in about three months I'll know for sure if I am...- brian183

Hard Drive enclosure purchase help plz
I've been meaning to get myself a hard drive enclosure for my 300GB maxtor drive but I honestly don't know what a good enclosure there is available. I basically want a USB 2.0 connection and a firewire connection (my laptop uses firewire). Beyond that I really don't know what else to look for...- brian183

sonty STR-VX300 troubleshooting (crappy right channel)
I swear guys, I have the worst luck with channel imbalances in almost every piece of audio equipment I touch. Of course, with this STR I recently purchased for 15 bux is no different. AHHHHH!! So here's the problem, listening to the amp from a cold turn on I get terrible scratchy or sometimes...- brian183

vintage equipment is fun with music
Well my friend is getting married soon (march 4th, 06) and he asked me to be the best man for the wedding. Of course I accepted (although I have no idea what I'm getting myself into), but he also asked me to provide the music for the reception. I won't be the DJ but I asked a friend to do it but...- brian183

dimeadozen appreciation/rant
I've been member of this great online bit torrent community that allows it's members to download/share bootlegs of concerts. It's all pretty much legal since most (if not all the torrents) are band approved recordings. Anyway, this place is so addictive. I would say 30% of my music is now...- brian183

finished my very first build..A47
Finished my first amp project A47 and I must say am very pleased with the results. First thing I noticed (while using my MS1's) is impact in the low end is increased significantly. My gilmore lite can't even get my MS1's with this kind of impact. I guess the best way to describe it is it's much...- brian183

lost in translation
Ok this is the first romance type of movie that I actually enjoy watching. I don't know if it's the chemistry of bill murry and scarlett johansson(or maybe just scarlett...I think she's very attractive ) but I can't get enough of this film. It could also be that it's set in tokyo japan which is...- brian183

After about 8 days I got my brand-new athena S2 speakers today from UPS. As soon as music came out of my sansui receiver I was impressed with them. At first I was surprised and a little annoyed the cabinet was a little deeper than I though it would be but I soon forgot this annoyance. These...- brian183

Got my G lite :)
I'm on lunch now at work and felt like posting bout my new GL. First, I love it. The major thing I noticed about the GL is it's so much cleaner than my sansui receiver. The GL makes my HF1's sound amazing. I was actually more surprised what it did with my MS1's than with my HF1. On the MS1, the...- brian183

A Gilmore lite question
I'm about to purchase the GL in a couple days but I've got some concerns. I'm already pretty sure that it's going to sound amazing with my grados (prolly my DT250 as well) but I'm actually concerned on it's transportability. I don't need an amp to listen to on the go but I would like it to be...- brian183

free CD rentals at work
Today at work I brought in all of my CDs (bought 250ish) because I forgot to charge my X5 the night before. During work, three people noticed the large collection and browsed it a little bit. This gave me an idea to make a free CD rental at work. Basically I let people borrow music from me for...- brian183

the rentals
I just found this band about a day ago and I'm likin' it. The guitar in this particular band sounds really good on grados (HF1 especially). It's not really great music but it's definitely something most people can rock out too. It reminds me of bloodhound gang's singer with the synths of reggie... -
