Audeze LCD-3 vs. Focal Clear vs. HIFIMAN Arya vs. HEDD HEDDphone
I very much enjoyed your excellent, detailed review! I am also surprised so few people have commented. I was particularly interested in reading your comparison of the HEDD, which I have never heard. I do own the Audeze LCD-3 pre-fazor. I am the original owner. I thought the original drivers too...- XLR1

The Official Beyerdynamic T1 Impressions and Discussion Thread
I have the first gen. IMO, they is too bright due to a very defined spike at 8k. I equalize the 8k down 4-5 db. This make them among the best headphones I have owned. Because they are light weight, solidly built, they mate well with all of my amps, and they have great base, they get most of...- XLR1

Focal Utopia General Discussion
I found the HD-800 to be bright, but partially due to a peak around 8K. IMO, the Utopia is not bright at all with the except of a similar, but smaller, amplitude volume bump near 8K. I am not a purest and I like to keep things simple, so I equalize down 3 db at 8K. For me problem solved.- XLR1

Upgrade for Audeze LCD-3?
I also recently bought a Focal Utopia. Outstanding headphone! Highly recommended it. Around the same time I bought a graphic equalizer to mate with my Audeze LCD-3 Classic. Although I prefer headphones that do not need EQ, IMO the the treble from the LCD-3C is overly represses. Once I...- XLR1

The Official Beyerdynamic T1 Impressions and Discussion Thread
EDITED 11/2/19 - I just got a Beyerdynamic A2 Headphone Amplifier. It is a few years old and I bought it used (since it was reasonably priced and quality amps tend to last for many, many years). I bought it to have multiple setups in my house and in particularly to use with my Audeze LCD-3...- XLR1

Your favorite sub-$1,000 closed-back headphones?
Definitely my Ultrasone Signature Pro. Great sound although slightly base heavy. Great case for travel. Light weight for full size headphone. No sound leakage. Great for watching movies on iPad or listening to music in bed while my wife is sleeping.- XLR1

Dallas Meetup - June 1, 2014 - Pictures and Impressions Thread
Thank you Nick. Your are a great host that know how to treat old and new friends. I have been wondering about the LCD X and had a great time comparing the LCD 3 and LCD X. I had both plugged into my two jack beta 22 amp for 1/2 hour +. The LCD3 was upgraded by Audeze about a year ago. The LCD3...- XLR1

Audeze LCD-X
I had a great comparison of the LCD 3 and LCD X Sunday at the Dallas meet. I had both plugged into my two jack beta 22 amp for 1/2 hour +. The LCD3 was upgraded by Audeze about a year ago. The LCD3 took move volume to drive. The b22 had no trouble driving either. In my opinion: o Both are...- XLR1

ULTRASONE NEW ANNOUNCED HEADPHONE Signature Pro
I bought the Sig Pro as my bedroom headphones to complement my ED 8. After a couple of A/B test, I sold the 8s. Too sibilant for trying to go to sleep. Only thing I miss is the great looks of the 8.- XLR1

ULTRASONE NEW ANNOUNCED HEADPHONE Signature Pro
I sleep on my back a lot so I use a thin pillow. I have laid on my side with the ED 8 and it was OK for a few minutes, but I felt like I was smashing the headphone. The Sig Pro is too large to wear laying on my side for very long.- XLR1

ULTRASONE NEW ANNOUNCED HEADPHONE Signature Pro
The ED 8 has very very little sound leakage. The Sig Pro has slightly more leakage but still very little. If it is important to you to get the one that leaks the absolute least, get the ED8s. However, the Sig Pro is less intense and IMO much better to listen to if you are in bed relaxing...- XLR1
