Oh man... I don`t really know how to put it into words.. I`m just a regular guy who likes good sound and have no technical knowlege as such. I guess the best way of explaining it is the sound signature of the EX1000. They are tuned in such a uniqe way and the FUN factor because of this is...- heimis

The z1r is a very very good iem, no question about it. But the general fit is absolutely horrible! I can last about 1 hour before my ears start hurting... with the ex1000 I can listen all day and not even know they're there^^- heimis

I also wanna add that I would trade 5 pairs of the ier-z1r for 1 pair of the ex1000, that's how much I love them. They are so unique that I really think most people have no idea what they are capable of :)- heimis

Yeah I know you're right. I'm pushing 40 now and I get random ringing in my ears more often now regardles weather I'm listening to music or not. Yes I quickly realised that the ex1000 is (for me at least) the greatest Iem ever made. So as soon as I learned that they had been discontinued I...- heimis

The ex1000 was the very first pair of iems I ever bought so I had nothing to compared them to. I still have some treble spikes here and there but that's mainly due to the fact that I always play music on an insalely high volume (106db full gain). The main difference I noticed during burn in was...- heimis

Yup! Take my ier-z1r for example.. I have heard absolutely no difference in sound since I bought them and they have well over 100+ hours by now. Same with my Z5s.. No difference in sound even when I put a $500 custom cable on them. The EX1000 though... like I said; night and day difference^^- heimis

I use my IER-Z1Rs about 10% of the time... The other 90% are spent on the EX1000 and I even have a spare new pair just in case something happens^^ I keep buying headphones and IEMs but I always go back to the EX1Ks :)- heimis

This is so true. I also mostly listen to trance / house / electronic music and the EX1K definitely struggles with most tracks.. The main problem being lack of mid bass..- heimis

So for the last 3-4 months I have almost only listened to music on the IER-Z1R. Yesterday I downloaded some new music and decided to break out the EX1000`s again and my God they are still in a league of their own! I`m actually sorry for having neglected them these last months :P I was rocking...- heimis

I`m an honest regular guy so I`m not going to lie.. the answer is no :p But when I do I will post a new picture to prove it lol Right now I`m way too busy trying to get my hands on the Sony SA Z1. They are on the very top of the list of new gear I need to get  Edit: I was very impressed...- heimis

I believe the 800st cable is slightly longer then the EX1000 because it's made for studio use. Personally I find the original EX1K cable THE most comfortable and solid cable I have ever used! I would buy 5 spare ones If they were still available!- heimis
