Grado HF2's: anyone *not* like them?
I never liked the jumbos on HF-2. Things get balanced when using jumbos but it takes away the FUN factor of the phones. One question: Because I was away from Head-fi for some time, now I see HF-2 with #1000s. I thought it would be only about 550 units. Has there been another HF-2 promotion...- pzm9pzm9

Woo WA2 Tube Rolling Recommendations
Quote: Im so glad to see this thread came alive !! From what I read, the rectifier tubes don't change much of the sound quality. (when compared to swapping 6AS7s and 6922s) Plus, there aren't many choices for EZ80s. (maybe not... im not sure) I also wonder if you need...- pzm9pzm9

Best headphones for $500 price range?
Quote: classiclal, jazz, pop and rock! You need all arounders. Perhaps DT880 or HD650. But if you are going to have some collections down the road, why not buy one for specializing the specific genre. By looking at your sig., I would suggest Grados for rock. Althogh I don't listen...- pzm9pzm9

Need RECOMMENDATIONS! Have US$300-$400 to invest on DAC.
+1 for NFB-11, if your music source is flac or CDs. or perhaps mp3 320Kbps. or wait until we hear some impressions of NFB-11. likely happen in early next week or late this week. But not sure if the promotion will be gone by then. Personally, if I were you, I would go and just get NFB-11 before...- pzm9pzm9

Are there any remote controlled DACs that don't cost an arm and leg?
why would you need a volume control on a DAC. Perhaps we need one on amp maybe? I have seen one head-fi member getting a remote control volume by special order from WooAudio amp.- pzm9pzm9

Audio-GD NFB-11
I just found out why we are not getting impressions of NFB-11 yet. except for one from isao. Apparently, there has been 12 NFB-11 shipped out until 26th (on their consignment webpage), all of them went to Japan. http://www.audio-gd.com/ConsignmentGlobal.htm Perhaps they have...- pzm9pzm9

Woo Audio Amp Owner Unite
Quote: TS5998 has more full body sound. My memory is fuzzy since I only briefly had Tung Sol 7236 (they were returned to WooAudio for one piece being defective... Somehow WooAudio re-shipped Sylvania 7236, saying Sylvania is better... I thought TungSol 7236 had slightly more full body...- pzm9pzm9

Best DAC to go with WA6 or Ear+ HD.
Quote: I hope not! Im waiting for DAC19 to come. I have been listening Havana for a year now. From what I read, Havana is very musical and sounds organic compared to solid state dac. People say DAC19 is 'neutral', I imagine it will be somewhat dry compared to Havana but faster...- pzm9pzm9

Price Alert? DT990/600 for $230
wow. that is a great price! I just wanna buy it even though I don't need it By the way, non Manufaktur versions have a great chance of being channel imbalance. That is exactly what happened to my DT880 600ohm. I had to pay like 70 bucks to fix it in my country.- pzm9pzm9
