With the SuperMini don't use the impedence switch. I think it does something to the crossover network and you get the details sucked out and a VERY congested sound. I use the solid tube and it seems to add a touch of bass impact and high end sizzle (in good, synergistic, way)

I had the same problem. I went out and bought some Westone UM2 after that. Wow the bass was better, just as comfortable, and nice for all different genres. That said, I love my E4c, and wont be giving them up anytime soon becuase they have gobs of detail, larger soundstage, better dynamics...
