Waw. There were 300 of these made and there are two on the market right now? That seems ridiculous to me. I would have thought one pops up maybe every two years or so at the most. Maybe they're not all they're cut out to be.

When was last Orpheus on the market

Just curious about when, where and for how much it went for. Not that I'm at all in any position to look to buy one purely a curiosity/day-dreaming driven question. I don't think I've ever seen one for sale; although I don't really browse classifieds too often unless I'm looking for something...

    Neverending dilemma: k701 vs HD650

I really think that when people talk of the extremely expansive soundstage of the 701s they are deceiving those thinking about buying them. They do have good separation but in my opinion its not the type of out of head experience you might expect based on what you read - and I did try them with...

Thats obviously true and I'm pretty sure nobody is arguing against it. The issue is whether the curve of diminishing returns converges at a relatively lower price point then for other components - which some people think it does. A side issue we're discussing is weather digital sources improve...

So... What are your portable systems like?

Btw I thought I would just throw in there; while I like my UE11s, and I think they sound quite good I do ultimately regret the purchase. They're not that great that they make me stop wondering about other things and the money is completely sunk. Probably should have saved the money to start...

Whats the deal with audio dealers?

^ uh oh Dealers should adapt to a new climate. Not because they're wrong about people stealing their time being immoral; but because it's simply going to happen and being upset about it is just like shaking your fist at the rain. Thats also my opinion about the recording industry but thats...

UE11 straight out of ipod. I had an imod at one point a predator and a hornet, and even before i was using IEMs i didn't really think they were worth it both in terms of price and the inconvenience of having to carry the amps around.
