My HD 595s sound odd.
I have read posts on the 595s saying the bass will just disappear for a while then reappear, this could be what's going on although 85 hours of burn in should be enough for them IMO. Another thing is placement. I've noticed with mine that placement makes a noticable difference in sound. After...- akellor

How do you change the cord on hd555
If you can buy a cable with the right adaptor you can just follow these directions, but I don't know where to buy the replacement cables myself. ReplacingHD5x5Cable.pdf- akellor

Sennheiser hd595 vs. Grado SR-80 vs. E3c

Sennheiser hd595 vs. Grado SR-80 vs. E3c
I've owned all the phones you've mentioned, and they're all quite different with the exception of the 555s and 595s. I don't have the SR80s anymore but I acutally think of them as having a pretty warm bass and midrange, but bright/uneven treble. They're a fun sound but were too fatiguing for...- akellor

HD595 refurbs for $139
I just got mine in, I had an order in for a while but never got a chance to post about it here. Anyway here's some info. The 595s didn't come in the original packaging, just a plastic bag from Sennheiser. The 1/4 inch-to-mini converter was included, but the nifty headphone holder was not...- akellor

factory reconditioned senns any good?
I recently bought a pair of reconditioned PXC-250s and they were defective. There was a loose connection with the noise cancellation and moving my head around cause a loud thumping sound, but since they were fully warrantied I sent them into Sennheiser for repair. It took a while for them to...- akellor

Fed up with MD-33s
I totally agree with you JayG. 100% I'm constantly surprised that others like these, I couldn't stand them for even 1 week. For me it was the treble that pushed me over the edge, whenever there are supposed to be cymbals all I could hear was a "shhhhh" sound. Very distracting. I'm not...- akellor

Question for Senn HD555 Owners
Yup, it's related to the cable. Pic below will show you why. As for the veil, that does get better but is never completely gone. Although you might want to experiment with the headband sizing. I recently (this week) discovered that their position relative to my ears makes a big difference...- akellor

Sennheiser px200 burn in question
Burn will definitely help with the px200's, it took mine about 24 hours of loud burn in before the bass sounded good to my ears, but they aren't bassy headphones. If you can't get a good seal you'll never get good bass out of them. I wear mine sitting further back on my ears than one might...- akellor
