Does anyone find that when using Sennheiser tips the treble is a bit off and when using the Sony tips its perfect? Or is it just me and Mr. Placebo?

At low volumes on my X, the IE8 sounds so muddy and it seems like there is a wall blocking the treble... when I put it up at 13+, the veil is gone and the treble matches with the bass... does this happen to you guys? What is happening? Is something wrong with my pair?
