My mom was washing my clothes (didn't even notify me) while I left the X1061 in my pocket... next thing I know she is telling me the player will not turn on because she put it in the washer by accident! Holy s***... man I thought I was owned.

Before doing anything I consulted the internet. Hmm... people washed their iPods too before, and put them in rice! Charging + water = dead! So I put the Sony Walkman in a bowl of rice, and each day I tried pressing buttons but it would still not turn on!

Then after 5 days I became impatient... and plugged in the charger praying it would not die of water + electricity... and VOILA it was alive!

Man I learned my lesson. Always do my own laundry... and rice can do much more than serve as food.

Since the silicon case was on too I guess that helped as well... I can still see the impact marks left on the silicon case.

Yep and I'm glad you got it working

Oh and I'd suggest leaving it untouched in the rice for at least 5 days and not trying to turn it on until that time is up. As you stated charging + wet = dead and turning it on a day or two into the drying process could start it up with moisture still inside the player.
