Setup is Audio Technica CK10 + X1061... thanks in advance. Best portable amp. in terms of sound and usability. I heard about amps having no effect on IEMs... is that true?

There are a few options like the iBasso P3+, iBasso D4 for slightly higher price tag but you also get a nice DAC/AMP.

With the IEM's as per what is know, it does make a difference especially with the higher cost IEM's.

Are you willing to try and build your own or are you looking for something you can buy? If you're willing to build you could grab a Mini³ kit from Glass Jar Audio. My Mini³ sounds fantastic.

There are hundreds of options, key factors to lookout for are capacitors used eg blackgate, elna also get either a 3 or 4 braided cable the silver ones are more brighter then copper, so its up to your taste.Get Neutric gold connectors, I would hover around the FS to check what others are selling, you could even ask some of our DYI specialist to build a customized one for you by starting a thread there.

Well, for a Sony X1061 driving CK10 I wouldn't recommend a portable amplifier. Save your dough and spend on some future upgrade. X1061 doesn't have a line out and it's not worth amplifying the headphone out. More over the built in amp in X1061 is really good.
