Sennheiser HD 700 Impressions Thread
Ahh thanks a lot. I am mainly trimming down the upper mids I would say. Most of the head response functions have a really high 3k spike that sounds unnatural to me, and perhaps my ear shape contributes to that. I wouldnt mind more sparkle in the upper treble (7k+) though. I also own a pair of...- sidtai

Sennheiser HD 700 Impressions Thread
Hey guys, I am currently looking at the HD700 as an upgrade to my HD650. I am pretty satisfied with the sound signature of HD650, but not entirely. I listen to my HD650 on foobar with +3db@55Hz, +1db@77Hz, -1db@1.8k, -2db@2.5k, -3db@3.5k. Would anyone with both chime in if the HD700 would sound...- sidtai

-=Germania=-'s Audio Technica ESW9 Mod(s)
hey germania, after reading this thread i've started thinking ways to improve the soundstage on my beloved ES7. I know u have said that this mod on ESW9 relies on its wooden cups, but is there any other ways to achieve similar goals on ES7 which has plastic cups? Also, what are the function and...- sidtai

What do you guys mean by the UE 700 having a "dynamic" sound? Does it mean that it has a smiley face frequency response?- sidtai

Skylab, how does a fully burned in RX900 compare to your previously reviewed D1001? I'm deciding between these two as I've heard that the RX900 should belong to the $100-150 league in terms of SQ.- sidtai

audiotechnica ath-es7 upgrade
ES7's bass is not weak at all, its actually above average, but certainly not enough to satisfy bassheads. I would recommend ultrasone HFI-780 eardrum-vibrating bass. It has so much low bass that my ears got bass-fatigued (as opposed to treble) after 30mins of hip-hop/rap listening.- sidtai

JVC HAR-X700 and 900. Two of the best dynamics? Am I nuts?
I'm also torn between the 700 and the 900. What if I plan to mod? I know the drivers are a little bit different from each other as indicated by the impedance and sensitivity, but the extra "acoustic lens" in the 900 are better left unscrewed, from someone who actually did the mods. Anyone here...- sidtai

What do people mean by "Rolled off highs"
Loud music definitely gives me fatigue, but a lot of highs doesn't. I love the high-end sparkle in ES7 and ER4P/S, they give me enjoyment rather than fatigue. I can listen to them all day long =).- sidtai

Sound signatures
Although I do not agree that setting up a simple numerical scale would be any more beneficial, I do agree that all the comments about headphones are personal tastes. There are a lot of canalphones or IEMs that get a lot of praise here, like the denon C551 or C751 or AT CK7, but after I tried...- sidtai

REVIEW: Nuforce NE-7M iPhone IEM vs Denon C700 and Klipsch Image X10 (NE-8 Impressions Added 1/15/09)
HeadphoneAddict, have you heard the SE420? how does the nuforce compare to them? Recently I have got the chance to listen to a pair of SE420, and I find them very rich and musical, so I'm curious how the NE-7M stacks up against them.- sidtai

Nuforce Ne-7 vs Ne-8
I am very interested in the NE-7M, as HeadphoneAddict rates it above the C700, and i prefer a slightly emphasized bass, but the included microphone which i dont need nor want is keeping me from pulling the trigger, i really hope that Nuforce would release a NE-7 without the microphone soon >.<- sidtai

Official ATH-ES7 Thread
I have recently bought a pair of ES7 and currently it has 130 hours of pink noise on them. The mids have really smoothed out when compared to right out of the box. However, I find that in songs that have a lot of cymbals, the ES7 sounds congested in the highs, and it has less detail in the highs...- sidtai
