Anyone compared these to the AHD1100? I love the 1100s, but they’re discontinued and not of the most sturdy build. Thinking about upgrading.

I might be really behind on this but when did they get rid of the memory wire in the cables? I just got a new cable in the post today (one of the straight-jack ones) to replace the L-shaped old one that finally broke and it doesn't have it.    Now I have to learn a whole new way of putting...

I think I've posted about it in here before (it's a long thread) but I've never really had any problems with the stock cables, they last for ages and I'm pretty rough with them. 

Denon D1100 are very bassy without sacrificing overall sound quality and detail, I use them straight out of my Macbook, I haven't felt the need to get an amp. Isolation is pretty good, I've missed people knocking on my door while I'm wearing them, although I've never ventured outside with them on. 

I've been almost constantly using my TF10's on the go for the four or five years I've had them - walking places and trains mostly. I try and use the carry case for them when I can just in case but I do wind them around my iPod and stuff them in my bag or pocket more than I should. The paint is...

If you're looking for bass and no amping I'd recommend the Denon D1100. I've been in love with my pair for about two years. 

If you want something more neutral then the 1001 is certainly the way to go. They were a bit too flat for me but still pretty decent headphones. 

I upgraded from the D1001 to the D1100 and I thought it was a vast improvement. Fuller sound (maybe because of the emphasis on bass) and less harsh/sibilant which I found the 1001's to be at times.    They're tighter and isolate a bit better too if that matters to you at all.

For a long time my Triple.fi 10's were my main headphones. Honestly any of the top-tier IEM's could serve perfectly well as main headphones - TF10's, SE535, IE8 or any of the others.    If you want them to sound closer to a set of full-sized cans you might want to invest in a small USB...

This was one of the major problems I had with the SE530's when I bought them. I mean the sound wasn't for me either, but the impossibility presented by trying the other tips really put me off keeping them for very long too. Why on earth have they been designed to fit so tight?
