    Sony NW-A50 Series

I made this upgrade recently.. I bought the A55 and it is a day and night difference with my aging A17. Better sound, better build and better battery as my A17 was losing battery life since its so old. The Bluetooth streaming feature is also a game changer. Forget the 45 and go for the 55 and...

NCM (Nguyen Custom Monitors) - Universal/Custom

Which one would be the best for first time CIEM and hiphop/jazz/soft rock? I would be using my Ear Studio Bluetooth adapter and Sony nw-a55 as the source. Thanks

Yup. The T51ps also isolate much much better than the Sony's making them better for commuting purposes. They also leak very little sound which is something that even expensive closed backs fail to do

Thanks for that.     On a side note, do you have the new B&W P5 Series 2 on your radar by any change? They seem to have improved allot over the previous model. I would love to read your take on those if at all possible.

    SONY NWZ-A10 Series

I own the X5 and the A17 and imo you will not be sacrificing sound quality. The A17 sounds much better to me. Since the headphones you chose are pretty easy to drive you don't really need the power of the X5 either.

Just tried the Momentum Ver 2 on ear and I was not impressed at all. They leak sound like nobody's business. I listen to them on 20/30 on my Sony A17 and my wife could hear every word. On that same volume my wife can't hear a thing from my T51Ps. The sound was also not up par compared to the...

New supraaural headphones from Thinksound: On1.

Have you tried this yourself? DO  you have a pic?   I love Sennheiser cups and this would be great for me since i found the ear cups to be a bit uncomfortable on the On1s.

    SONY NWZ-A10 Series

I absolutely loved my J3. It was a great player with excellant battery. I find the A17 to be the spiritual successor to the J3.   It does sounds much better than the J3 with the added benefit that it plays Hi-Res files that the J3 can't play. Believe me it is an upgrade. The only thing i miss...

how do the on-ear M2 fare against the on-ear T51P?

    SONY NWZ-A10 Series

My only wish is that the A17 had a way of managing the levels of L/R where you can lower the volume on one side. Only feature missing imo

    SONY NWZ-A10 Series

That's what I did and never looked back. With ClearBass on the Sony has much better bass with the 325 than the X5. I like it.

The A17 powers my Grado 325e just fine. Very loud and powerful to me.

The mids sound better and stand out more on the T51P and the treble is just as MH described. The On1 is a more neutral headphone so that is the way the treble leans.

I replaced my On1s for the T51P and never looked back.   The Beyers are miles more comfortable than the On1 and they also have better mids to my ears too. The On1's pads will get warmer on the ear and some even say the bass changes as the pads warm up to your ears. I find them to get very...

The Ear Pads Thread (post questions or say what ear pads worked for you)

That's a cool mod. So what was the reasoning behind that mod? Was it for the reasons I mentioned?

The Ear Pads Thread (post questions or say what ear pads worked for you)

is there any fix to cushions/ear cups that make your ear warm? Seems bizarre but has anyone ever taken a needle and punctured the leather to make it more breathable?     Ear cushions that are the wrinkled type like the Beyer T51P/1350 lets air in so to speak via the wrinkles so my ears never...

Using that now. Works great. I currently have a bit more than 10K songs on it.

    SONY NWZ-A10 Series

Yes. I have over 10000 songs and i could almost guess the next song every time because it would always make the same order. And even when i picked the starting point after a few songs it would revert to the list that i know. This happens when i try to "Play All"

speaking of firmware, mine is at 1.00, how would one even update the firmware on these and does Sony have a history of updating the firmware for their walkmans allot?

Need help to test the 20,000 sound tracks music library firmware for X5 !

Same here. I gave up the X5 for something much much less frustrating. Good sound is useless when it brings you frustrations that don't allow you to just enjoy your own music.

    SONY NWZ-A10 Series

Who said it got beat by a Nano? That is something you read on this forum. Have you tried it out yourself?   I came from the Fiio X5 and I find the music coming from my T51Ps to sound richer and fuller than it did with the X5. Mind you allot will rely on what you are listening to and what you...
