Ibasso DX80
There's a serious bug in the new DX80 firmware (v 1.2.0). It hangs Back and Forward buttons. There is no other option than factory restore but the problem immediately returns. I downgraded to the previous firmware and it helped.- justblue

v 1.1.2 - neutral, bright treble, tight controlled bass, average size soundstage with close to listener presentation v 1.1.4 - dark bloated bass, bye bye treble, bye bye clarity, more congested mixed soundstage the DX50 with v 1.9.3 has so open airy presentation, there is so space an...- justblue

I did the same, gave it a shot. I believed in iBasso, but I'm really disappointed. The DX80 is bright, dull... this is not an audiophile sounding. Audiophiles and audio enthusiasts love analog, vinyl... Synthetic dryness? Like shoot in the foot in DAP audio world... Quote:- justblue

Ibasso DX80
I don't get it, the DX90 performs better at the same price. The DX80 is neutral with quite congested soundstage. There is not much Hi-Fi about this player, it just plays well, nothing more. Holography and positioning is rather poor in my opinion (even the DX50 is better at this point). I think...- justblue

I sense irony, but having the AKG K545 with in-line remote, believe me it is very comfortable to stop music or rewind, skip etc.- justblue

I would rather call the epic fail no in-line remote control and CTIA compatibility, and you?- justblue

to all haters around: my god, this comment was made before the X1 was released and referred to discussion about its concept, besides it was an irony... happy hating though, bye!- justblue

I've left the X3, it cannot be controlled blindly, and that's a basic failure. The DX50 wins. I wish the X3K hits the market sooner.- justblue

little confusing. if you mean different timbre and tone colour (e.g. warmer/sweeter/natural), then I would say OK. some players are more analogue in sounding and some are more digital. so, you plan to make the X1 analogue like?- justblue

should be really small and compact even the Sansa Clip and iPods are neutral in tone. if the X1 didn't have flat response, It wouldn't be dubbed an audiophile/hi-fi player... but just an affordable consumer DAP supporting 24bit tracks. do we need one? doubt it. the X1 should be a...- justblue

The X3K is coming. A new design would be welcome with more convenient control than the X3-like... After all a good news!- justblue

an audiophile DAP for $100? I'd rather say it's for mass music lovers... a real audiophile would be ashamed to buy it IMHO FiiO should do something marketing like with the X1 to win some new customers, but not necessarily the ones eager to buy the X3 or X5.- justblue

It makes no sense to design it to have no built-in memory, even the Clip+ has it. At least 2 GB is a must nowadays. I would suggest at least 3 colour versions: black, silver, white. Bluetooth, NFC, WiFi? Is it possible at this price point? After all an audio streaming is a worldwide trend...- justblue

Don't you think that the RE-400's sound presentation and sound stage are somehow congested and stifled comparing to the Music One (or the SE535 even more)?- justblue

Don't worry, I'm gonna buy the X3 on Xmas (looking for a bargain now) But seriously, is it necessary to make it so big? This is not a smartphone but a player after all, it does not consume so much energy. Changing Wolfson to Texas Inst. and enlarging the screen and the battery capacity as...- justblue

I agree with you, it's better to have one device than all this silly audio instalations, but please notice that it's bigger than the SGS4 and other ~5" smartphones which for sure are more power hungry. Besides, it looks that it's PLASTIC not aluminum!- justblue
