Grado 325 earpiece mod?
Hi, I recently got some Grado 325s and while i love them i find that the earpieces aren't all that crash hot. After a few hours of use my ears start getting sore. Perhaps this is a good reason to take a break but i'd like them to fit better. Are there any mods on the ear pads? to...- orfeo

Opening Grado SR60is to replace the cable
i used a hair dryer, and some brute force, obviously be careful not to get the rotational axis of the cups too off axis as you remove them,...ie jar them.... ps be careful when soldering the contacts...i think i managed to blow the drivers some how...with too much heat. orfeo- orfeo

is this Koss Sporta Pro repair possible?
Hi Guys I bought these koss sporta pro headphones for my wife, this is literally the 3rd pair she's had (with the other two having cord problems/channel drop outs). This time around they snapped at the plastic arm for the left phone. I assume no one has ever repairs something as drastic as...- orfeo

Hi guys I wouldn't mind resurrecting this thread, my UE SF5P cord needs replacing and i'd love to make my own. The crux being the pins, from what -=Germania=- said it sound like the silver hardened pins are the best option. I know that -=Germania=- said 20 AWG was the size of the...- orfeo

Ultimate Ears Super.Fi 5 Pro Clear cord vs Black cord
Hey guys, My clear cord for my UE Super.Fi 5 pro's needs to be replaced now that it's too short to repair. I'm considering going with the black version as i wasn't happy with how much memory the clear cord had. I wrapped it up and placed it in the case and this just led to the cord acting...- orfeo

UE Super fi 5 pro cord storage/durability
Hey all, I recently replaced my old er6's which died with the UE Super fi pro which i'm pretty happy with. The one thing i'm concerned with is storing them in that small metal case, i have to wrap the cord around my fingers to get them in there and i'm worried that doing this over and over...- orfeo

er6 filter replacement
Hi, i'm going to replace my filters on my etymotic er6's soon to see if that fixes a problem with them. I've now got the filter tool, does this tool ruin the filters in getting them out? i take it by the pointy tip it does. Someone was telling me to swap the filters over to opposite channels...- orfeo

Where can I go buy Grados...now?
when i tried out the grado's i found the 60's to sound louder than the 80's (at the same volume setting, perhaps it was just the demo pair (or maybe a slight resistance difference between the two models). But this made me opt for the 60's since i was going to be using them on my ipod and i...- orfeo

changing filter on er6 without tool?
gino, are you saying the tool destroys the filter in getting it out? i was planning on just cleaning them (or swaping them to see if any problems change channel), so if the tool destroys them then i guess theres no point. The reason i'm being so cheap is cause i've already spent $25 on a...- orfeo

changing filter on er6 without tool?
hi, i want to take the filters out of my etymotic er6's but i don't have the tool. I know that you can pop the filters out of the er6i's with your fingernail but it doesn't seem possible with the er6's. Does anyone know of a make shift way? thanks orfeo- orfeo

Roasting IEM
hey dakota, i've got the same problem from what i've found it should be a filter problem, if you've got the er6i's then u can pop the filter out and clean it in window cleaner (apparantly). To make sure it is the filter you should swap the filters in the other channel and see if the problem...- orfeo

Shure e3c vs. UE3
i love my er6's and i don't want to trash the name, but, after mine have died after only a year or so of use i don't think they're suited to portable use (or perhaps even any long tern use). While the sound quality is great the build quality is terrible. A thin flimsy cord just isn't enough for...- orfeo

IEM or Open for around $200?
