Chinese / Asian Brand IEM Info Thread
I have carbo Tenore and am wondering if MEMET X5 is better or a sidegrade. I like Tenore but the soundstage is small and I'm looking for sub $50 with better soundstage and soft treble for long session listening. I like to wear them straight down.- badmod

All sellers on AE are gouging on prices before the 11.11 sale. The prices on 11.11 are what they were last week except for very few earbuds. You get a better discount when you ask the seller.- badmod

Take a look at shozy Cygnus. It is about $90 and it's well received. It is also very comfortable and sound good unamped. The 650 will need an amp and it's very new and people might be in honeymoon phase with it. Sorry I don't have any of them and I'm also looking for one, but from what I see the...- badmod

Earbuds Round-Up
What earbud is good for listening to podcasts and audiobooks? I prefer something with low impedance to use with a phone. I have MP and I don't know if it is worth getting something like shozy cygnus for that reason. I think this type of listening is not challenging for most earbuds but I spend a...- badmod

Is the Dragonfly DAC capable to drive Zen 2? I know it has an amp but not sure how powerful it is. What other options are there (~$100 or less) to use with a laptop? Not interested to use it with my phone and I don't want a desktop amp but something that is semi-portable (if that make sense?).- badmod

Unboxing videos.....why?
It is a good a reference. I knew my package was an open box by watching the unboxing video (which I hated for the longest time). And it is a good way to spot fake products.- badmod

Review and discussions - Audioengine D1 24/96 USB and Optical DAC/amp for laptops and computers
I can't decide between D1 and HRT HeadStreamer to use with my Denon D2000 from a laptop. As I understand D1 is warmer but has impedance of 10 ohm where the Denon likes amp with low imp (< 1 ohm). HS has low imp but it is brighter and I am not sure how this will work with denon hot treble. ...- badmod

Comparing 5 good DAC/AMPS ..... and one EASY winner ...
Quote: According to HRT quote in this thread http://www.head-fi.org/t/582460/hrt-headstreamer-vs-hrt-music-streamer-ii, the DAC section are the same in both MS and MSII. The only difference is the isolation stage in MSII which is is replaced by analog attenuator and an OCL amplifier...- badmod

Comparing 5 good DAC/AMPS ..... and one EASY winner ...
At first I thought this is the first generation of MSII which is a DAC. Then after some searching around I found out this a new HRT DAC/Amp with asynchronous USB. This should get more attention here for the asking price. Just curious, how do you stick it to the back of the laptop?- badmod

Denon D7100?!
I thought this at least makes it 10x better. It looks like they were following Beats Studio design but in a bad way. Just like the resemblance between "D7100?" and FA-004. Denon really need to invest more in designers, and they should have learned that from the past.- badmod

Ear pain mystery - Denon D2000 and Senn HD-650 but NOT ATH-M50 or PX100
I feel maybe the same pain with the Denon. I can't put my finger on what might be the reason but it is definitely not a physical force or clamp. Without playing music I can set for hours with no discomfort... but when playing music, I get tired of them after few minutes. I am not sure if...- badmod

Denon D2000/D5000 - amount of sound leakage?
I thought D2000 would leak much before I bought one from what I read around here. I really don't think the leakage are that bad. I listen to them unamped and at mid volume in quiet places and usually people around me can't tell what music I'm playing.- badmod
