    Somewhat Frustrated!!!!!!!!

Quote: I can drive them fine with just an ipod (touch 4th gen) or my phone.  Volume tends to be near maxed out, but I listen a little on the loud side anyway.  For comparison, the M80 tends to hover around 2/3 of volume on the ipod and the HD25s around 90%.  Of course, both sound better...

    Somewhat Frustrated!!!!!!!!

Quote: x2   I have both of these headphones.  Both perfect for you.  As for which, if you prefer highs, go with the Sennheisers, and if you prefer mid-bass, go with the V-Modas.  I personally prefer the Sennheisers if I had to choose (but I love treble).  Some people find the V-Modas...

Denon AH-D1100 or Klipsch Image One?

Denons.  And that even accounts for the fact that my Image One's were under $50 and the Denon's are invariably over $100.  They are definitely better sounding.  Both very bassy, the Image One's overwhelmingly so.

"Beats Studio by Dr. Dre" vs "Grado SR80i"

This is not a competition.  IMO, the Beats are worth around $30-$50 at most, with like $300 worth of advertising poured into them.  The Grados are phenomenal.  No, I'm not a diehard Grado fanboy or anything, but they are, admittedly, what got me addicted to headphones.  They just sound great for...

    Amp for Klipsch Image ones

They have low impedence and have a really way too bass heavy, commercial public sound.  IMO, not terrible cans, but not worth amping.  I have them (I got them cheap, couldn't resist), and the sound straight out of my iPod is only the slightest bit worse than out of my Bithead or my Fiio amp or...

Best Bass Over the ear headphones for 50<

Koss PortaPros?  Not the most bass quantity out there, but a little bassier than most with a very nice sound given their price tag.  If you want just unreasonable amounts of bass, check Amazon regularly for the Klipsch Image One's to go down to $50.  I've never heard a bassier headphone ever...

    Where to sell Beats

Try returning them to, say, the Apple store or some other retail store and say you lost your receipt.  See where that gets you.

    100$ bugdet.

Koss portaporos are mega cheap (around $30), sound great (phenomenal for the price), and are fairly comfortable.  They're semi-open, so maybe not totally ideal if you're in very noisy settings, but definitely better than the Grados in this regard (note: I am so in love with my modded Grado...

    Grado Drivers.

They're definitely different.  Anyone who has heard the 60s and the 225s can tell you that.  Same materials for construction, huge sound difference.

V-Mode Crossfade LP vs Soul by Ludacris SL150

V-Moda Crossfade M-80 Look just like the LPs (but smaller), but sound worlds better.  Super balanced, portable, and durable.  You can't go wrong.

    Where to buy Grados?

http://www.earphonesolutions.com is having a 25% off all headphones (they have the 225s and the 325s) for Black Friday (I think you have to enter the code BLACK7).  I would hop on that if I were you.  Free shipping on any order over $99 too.  So you could pick up the 225s for an even $150 total...

    Klipsch Image One - Opinions?

I got the Image One recently.  It has unreasonable bass quantity for anyone who isn't a basshead, but at least it's pretty tight.  Mids are a little recessed but not terrible.  Highs are okay.  Really not a spectacular headphone, but I don't regret the purchase (under $50).  If I was a basshead...

The final 3 before I make the purchase

Quote: If you're okay with used, you can find the Grados for much cheaper than 100.  I got mine for under 70.  That makes it only like a $5 difference if you're okay with used.

Do You Guys Take Your Mid-Fi/High End Headphones Outside of the House Or Do They Live Inside Only?

Headphones for a GF, I need help

Quote: x2 on the AKGs.  I think the Fushia ones would be a good fit, and they're less than $40 new on Amazon.

Headphones for a GF, I need help

The Audio Technica FC700As (as well as several of the other sub-$100 Audio Technica models) come in many colors, and sound good for their price tag.

Which in-ear headphones are right for me?

Klispch Image X5is if you can get a good price for them.    Otherwise you can always save yourself some money and go with the Image S4is.  They sound almost as good and are only like $50.     Or the Turbines are also a good option, though dollar-for-dollar I'd personally choose Klipsch...

Does the devil wear Prada...or Phiaton?

I guess I lied in that last post.  If I had a hundred million dollars I'd probably buy the Stax-009 and a Woo audio amp for it for the home and another can for travel...perhaps the edition 8 and a solid amp?...and then the Pradas/Phiatons would sound so lousy in comparison that I probably...

Does the devil wear Prada...or Phiaton?

Quote: For some people, definitely.  If I had a hundred million dollars right now, I'd probably get them.  It depends on how much the swag is worth to you, and how much money you have to spare.  And, for what it's worth, I think there is also a big difference here since:   A. Beats...

    Soul by Ludacris

I'd like to note that, in my second paragraph, when I said "I know for a fact that there are several pairs of superior Sony and Sennheiser cans kept in stock at Best Buy that blow away the Beats", I didn't mean that it is a fact that they blow away the beats (indeed, that would negate my entire...

Does the devil wear Prada...or Phiaton?

Quote: A. Fashion is a weird thing; sometimes 5 letters makes all the difference.     B. Although I don't find this to be the case with all Prada products, I believe these are largely for status and security in the way others will judge you.  It's enough that if you're worried...

Do You Guys Take Your Mid-Fi/High End Headphones Outside of the House Or Do They Live Inside Only?

Yes.  I can't resist taking my Grados with me everywhere I go, even on buses.  Yes, I feel bad that everyone has to listen to my music, but not bad enough to go the whole day every day without the sound quality.  I've even taken my Sennheiser HD600s out on the town a few times, to be honest.
  24. JBAndradeIV

Would you buy this hypothetical headphone?

I said no.  I think a good pair of open headphones are designed only to be a good pair of open headphones, and if you closed them off they'd be much worse.  And vice-versa for closed headphones.  I think to create such a hybrid, you'd need to meet somewhere in the middle, meaning only an okay...

Does the devil wear Prada...or Phiaton?

Yo people should be able to spend their own money without criticism.  OBVIOUSLY, if you're buying Prada headphones, it isn't solely for the sound quality.  Prada has nothing to do with electronics, and anyone who thinks that Prada headphones will sound better because they're Prada is crazy.  ...
