Recommendations for a full-sized portable. Under $120.
Hey guys, I've been out of the scene for about 4 years. List anything and everything that fits this recommendation. I just want to see where to get a decent set. Foremost importance is probably construction. No crap recommendations like HD201 and stuff, please. ...- nsjong

HD228's... Did I get a fake?
I've recently purchased a HD228 from a local craigslister. Came in original packaging and etc, etc. I'm just curious as to the sound. They just sound really hollow for me. Maybe I've been used to IEM's for too long? Or do I need time for burn-in? Because I've NEVER heard of fake...- nsjong

BACK and READY FOR MORE! (need a little help here)
How nostalgic of me to be back here. Well, my friend wants me to get back into the scene, so here I am. The problem is, I've been away for about a good 2 - 3 years. You know, the last decent cans (they will be always portable) were: - AKG K81DJ's - Equation RP-21 - Shure E5c's -...- nsjong

HAIR GEL ... which to use?
Okay, so looks like my shorter hair needs to be put up a bit. My friend has Dippity Doo Pink gel, which can't be bought anymore, which I have used for several days. So here is what I learned: - it does not flake - it actually stays for LONG periods of time - it doesn't smell like anything...- nsjong

For the love of god, recommend me a ROUTER!
Okay, so my friend and I each have a router, from Linksys. They're about 3 - 5 years old. Updated firmware, etc. They're pieces of crap. So I'm on a relentless hunt for a new router. Wireless capability and password security is a must, as it seems they don't make one without it these days...- nsjong

URGENT - Need new ROUTER for my compy
I say this is urgent cause my bloody sister won't stop stealing the internet! And the router is SO OLD (4 years) that whenever she takes the connection, it literally takes half of my connection. Thus, I keep signing off of MSN, every 5 minutes, pages won't even come close to loading, etc. I...- nsjong

BC official meet. IC.
It's that time of the year again. This will be my last year at head-fi without a doubt. Many move on and I will too. So I'd like to see who would like to come. I know some people already informed me that they would like to attend a meet. What I'm wanting first is to get to know the estimated...- nsjong

Metro.fi or Super.fi 3?
I'd like to know which one is better, sound and fit-wise. I would choose a Shure, but no replaceable cable sucks in Canadian winters. Here's a list that I owned/tried and did not like: - Shure E2g - Shure E3c - Shure E4c - Shure E5c - Etymotic ER6i - Etymotic ER4P - JVC FX33/55/77...- nsjong

Losing passion of this hobby?
Anyone else? I know I am for sure. After I get a iAudio D2 and a decent pair of IEM's, it really looks as though I'm through. Even some of the headphones I promised myself to get, I have backed out. (that includes the HTX7, SJ5, ES7) I feel that this "hobby" is really taking an impact on...- nsjong

Grado Grills? For SR60?
Okay, so my friend is trading me his half-busted SR60's. It's missing the grills and the headband is a bit out of shape but it's a Grado. Anywho, I was wondering what type of replacement grill I could use for it? I would have to take apart the Grado's, right? Sorry, I'm new to DIY. Is...- nsjong

Video compression program? Anyone?
I just wanna ask if anyone has any recommendation for a video compression software or freeware. I want to put some video's on my Sansa in smaller sizes. The Sansa software doesn't compress it at all; just alters screen size without compressing. I want to alter the video screen size +...- nsjong

SonicStage: Not as bad as I remember it to be. :O
So I just got another NW-E507 (1GB) for helluva bargain. $50CDN is damn cheap for a moderate used one. Anyways, to transfer music in, you must use SS. I know many of you dread this program and I used to as well. But today, I install the latest version, SonicStage 4.2 CP, and surprisingly...- nsjong

BC mini-Meet #2: Impressions
Aw hell, I think we had more than enough equipment here! Thanks to Fang from Head-direct for sending us some test buds! Lots were impressed by the PK2's and liked the bi-flanges on the in-ears. Anyways, I did not know we had such hardcore listeners in BC! Seriously! Jesus, what is up with...- nsjong

Should I recable + extract drivers from my HP460's?
I'm thinking of doing this once I do the review (which people seemed to stop bothering me about. ) So this is a basic yes or no question. I'm thinking of putting 80ohm resistors in there as well... Of course, I'm noob, so I'll have to contact a dear head-fier who is superb at making...- nsjong
