How nostalgic of me to be back here.
Well, my friend wants me to get back into the scene, so here I am.
The problem is, I've been away for about a good 2 - 3 years.
You know, the last decent cans (they will be always portable) were:
- AKG K81DJ's
- Equation RP-21
- Shure E5c's
- Sennheiser PX100's (the older, darker sounding ones)
Now, I'm just confused as to which and what to start with.
My listening preferences are similar to artists such as:
Weezer
Our Lady Peace
Billy Talent
Rise Against
System of a Down
Or anything similar.
I like detail + highs in priority, but the lower sounds I would prefer to be smooth but very deep.
I also have a large head so nothing tight as the K81DJ's.
And I prefer open.
My budget is around $100.
I don't need IEM's, I have a pair of purple Philips in-ear's that I love.
Philips is such an underrated company.
And I won't bother with the search function, because I'll be overwhelmed by what to get.
Any recommendations would be great, from old to new.
Thanks guys (and a few gals?).
So in a nutshell:
- Supra-aural
- $100 or less
- Highs + details -> Lows -> Mids
- Not meant for small heads
- No clip-ons
- No IEM's
- No earbuds
