I just wanna ask if anyone has any recommendation for a video compression software or freeware.

I want to put some video's on my Sansa in smaller sizes. The Sansa software doesn't compress it at all; just alters screen size without compressing.

I want to alter the video screen size + compression of the file size.

Can anyone help?

Thanks!

You can get mencoder (comes with mplayer) which is a command line utility for encoding all sorts of videos. Basically anything that can transcode to MJPEG will work for the sansa. Be warned however that MJPEG compression results in very large files compared to mpeg4/avc/other mpeg4 variants.

edit: mplayer is OSS, so it is very much free, and very high quality software.
