Grados are easy to drive. For the price, an e6 would drive them pretty good. Save the 30$ and put that towards some different cusions on your grados. just my 2 cents.

I'm not sure what you mean by fairly portable. check out jdslabs. They make some great products for portable use.

I dont think theres going to be much of an improvment in that price range. Although the fiio e10 may be a boost in sound quality. I'm still waiting for xmas on that one.

Im in the same boat. There's just too much gear in the 100$ range now. I spent weeks pouring over whats on amazon, and reading threads on that gear there. From what I read, concerning usb, theres only so much and so far you can go in that price range. I have several laptops and a few work...

I have the m50's and the 80's.  They both are great phones. Frankly I think you'll be happy with the 80 or 60...for a short period of time. The grado upgrade/mod bug hits hard. Every day I come to this site, I stare at the magnum/mod threads and wonder....
