CIEM $1k - Electropop, Rock, Hiphop, female vocals
Huh. I guess I figured that comfort and isolation would be the two best reasons to go with a custom...haha! I was definitely looking at Campfire Audio. I was thinking about the Orions before my budget expanded, but was concerned about isolation with the shallower insertion. Now that I know...- endus

CIEM $1k - Electropop, Rock, Hiphop, female vocals
Would really appreciate any recommendations people may have. I've been researching a ton but would like some input. Background: I had been using my LG V20 with Beyerdynamic Custom One Pros for several years. Was fairly happy with the sound. I bought a Samsung Note 9 and the lack of the LG...- endus

LG V20 Sound Quality
POW! Thanks for posting that. I am super anxious to get my new phone and was worrying about whether the unlocked versions might take more time to come out. Fingers crossed. I'm really looking forward to this phone. Spotify is definitely part of my music routine, so I'm looking forward...- endus

The issues with 1.4.2 failing to scan a lot of files on the cards are worse than I initially believed. I am going to downgrade when I actually get the time, but I do hope there is new firmware on the way which fixes the issue.- endus

Player started looping on the See You screen randomly while playing/charging. It had been working well on the 1.4 firmware, other than some small scanning issues, but now it won't start up at all. Try to start it and it just goes straight to See You and loops. Seems like this may be a bit...- endus

I haven't noticed any that were there disappearing, but I did run into a couple more albums where all of the files in the folder were not scanned.- endus

For me it was that the player does not support the album artist tag. All of my files are tagged well, but I had things like techno mix albums marked with the Album artist as the DJ, and then the individual tracks with the track artist. It works awesome in foobar but causes problems on the...- endus

I am really liking 1.4.2. The transparency on the volume screen is great, for some reason having the track/album blocked when i adjusted the volume really bothered me. It seems like such a stupid inconsequential thing and I can't explain under what circumstances it bothered me but it's way...- endus

Some people were talking about the player not starting up a little bit ago, I am now having this issue. When the player is at about 23% of battery life it will no longer start up unless connected to a power source.- endus

I actually used the all music function a few more times after the last time I mentioned it. It is definitely very slow - with 2x200gb cards it takes a long time for the player to start up, a long time to change tracks, even a long time for the player to play the next track in the list. I would...- endus

Hey! Thanks for reminding me! I added two new albums to my card last night, and I made a correction in the tags for one album out of three I have for the same artist. One album did not have part of the artist's name capitalized that should have been, which is enough for the DX80 to create...- endus

My previous portable DAP was an iPod Classic (well, a few iPod classics over the years) which obviously had the Apple tendency to, "just work properly" as long as you don't want to anything too complicated. There is nothing about the 1.3.3 DX80 that I find unsatisfactory given that history...- endus

I tried the DX80 with my ATH-A900s which are 40 ohms and found the sound extremely lacking. This is when I first got the device, though. Based on some of the comments here it sounds like I ought to give them another shot. In contrast it has always driven my Beyer Custom One Pros like a...- endus
