Anybody have the Koss ksc-55?? Never hear about it...

KSC55 is generally a very tight squeeze on the head. The band presses pretty hard against the area above the ears. Despite that, I enjoy using them more than most headphones on the go. The sound is bass heavy, and a bit lacking in overall separation and clarity, but it has a full sound that...

Reasons to buy music versus sharing/music stores..

My reason for buying up such a music collection as I had (around 250 - 300 CDs, which for a student is pretty large nowadays) is for whatever placebo reason, I am far more likely to listen to a CD I ripped than a CD I downloaded. It's not a question of quality, I don't have the ears for that...

    not happy with my shuffle

Agreed, return it if it doesn't suit you. 1GB's a bit much to have without being able to see the songs, 512MB works just fine I find though. Best use though that I've found is 512MB shuffle with playlists made from 1 or 2 song "samplings" of each album.

The Irony of Calling iPod Users "Sheep"

I don't have much to add, besides I'm surprised how many people have missed the actual statement in the original post, and that I wish you would post such observations more often scrypt as they are completely accurate in my mind. I would not claim to be as educated in this area, but I am...

    HD 485: Quick Impressions Inside

I've got em. For sub-$100, unamped, they stomp all over the HD25s I had, and easily rival the HD590 and HD595 to my ears in an unamped setup. Very good amounts of detail, good immersion. Only hitch is they are bassy. It's not too sloppy sounding, but is strong and can be distracting over the...

    COPY CONTROLLED CDS!

Download and Install EAC. Open EAC. Insert CD while holding the Shift key until the CD comes up in EAC Rip as WAV to desktop folder. Use iTunes or anything to convert into file format you'd like. What CD is it anyway? I've never had a problem with copy protection on any album I've found...

    Hip-hop recommendations?

    a) Immortal Technique is a guy, not a group. b) Finally found the link for Binary Star-Masters Of The Universe free download from their own label's site (all legal): http://www.subterraneousrecords.com/motu.html All 128kbps MP3s, but as it's free and legal, don't complain. Just download it...

Good external sound cards? (for laptop)

You guys realize if you buy the Micro DAC from Headroom, you still need to buy a separate amplifier, right? All it outputs is a line out signal, which is not suitable for driving headphones.
