I live in the midrange!
Well, it's Saturday, and I was in one of those moods this AM. On my way into work (

) I stopped at Barnes & Noble AND Best Buy to get some new CD's.

I'm looking it over right now, and it's an eclectic mix to be sure:

Eric Clapton - Back Home
Sufjan Stevens - Illinoise
13th Floor Elevators - Easter Everywhere
Todd Rundgren - Anthology (1968 - 1985)
Paul McCartney - Chaos and Creation in the Backyard
The Dandy Warhols - Odditorium or Warlords of Mars
Super Furry Animals - Love Kraft
Death Cab for Cutie - Plans

I'm one CD into it - I'm at work now (

), and will be for several more hours. Unfortunately, it looks like I'll work my way through most of this stuff prior to leaving tonight (

). Oh well...at least I've got some good tunes.

Anyone else have a similar binge lately??

I buy most of mine online, over the last 2 weeks I've bought about 50 CDs. Now that they started coming in, I'll go a month without buying more. They are almost entirely Jazz with a few Blues thrown in.

When I go on CD buying spree I like to get stuff from many genres. Rock, alternative, indie, punk and jazz are almost always in the mix.
most recent buys are
dream theater - octavarium
clash - london calling
pillows - happy bivauc

starting to feel the itch to buy more...maybe I'll go to disc replay today and try to find a treasure of good deals.

I know it all to well. Recently it hasn’t happen, though. I did, however, go crazy in the DVD-section; to my standards, at least. It’s horrible. At first I feel ashame since I ‘wasted’ a lot of money, but usually it a “good” investment.

I bought
Chicago
Garfield (to my brother)
The Complete Band of Brothers collection (for ONLY USD 15!!)
The Last Samurai (which is surprisingly good!)
The Green Mile
Dodgeball (It was quite Funny)
11 DVD’s in total. Price: USD 57 (Which is quite cheap here)

In cd’s I bought
Häkan Hellström — Ett Kolikbarns Bekännelser (Not as good as the previous
)
Kaizers Orkestra — Maestro (maybe their best album yet!)
Moneybrother — Blood Panic
Hayseed Dixie — Let There Be Rockgrass (now these guys are funny. They make folk versions of AC/DC, Led Zepp, Metallica, No doubt etc.

Well, this has been quite a day!!

I went out for dinner (and to pick up a suit from the tailor) and I stopped at Media Center...and picked up two hi-rez numbers:

T-Rex - Electric Warrior (DVD-A)
Erick Clapton - Slowhand (SACD)

Now those I can't listen to at work

On-topic:

I haven't been on any serious CD/DVD spending sprees lately, but I'm working on a list for later in the week when I have time to go shopping. 10 titles on it so far....

man...I wish I had the $$ to go on CD/DVD shopping spree's.

the last CD's I bought (on the same day) were:
The Click Five - Greetings from Imrie House (their music is fun and the CD was cheap ok? don't make fun of me :p)
The Thrills - Let's Bottle Bohemia
and I FINALLY picked up Broken Social Scene's - You Forgot it in People (I love the American cover compared to the Canadian one so I waited until I was in the states to get it).

Each CD was under $10

Hey Tom!
How are the Rundgren and TRex discs? Would you buy both again? I was considering the TRex but the Rundgren sounds intruiging too. Love to hear your comments once you've had time to listen.

That's quite cheap anywhere. I'm jealous, I've been wanting the Band Of Brothers DVDs for a while now but they only sell for around 90-100 USD.

The Todd Rundgren disks are OK...not the strongest set of songs IMHO, and the SQ is pretty good but not great.

Haven't had a chance to listen to TRex lately...and at the rate things are going at work, it may not happen for a while.
