The books were a big hit in China, and in 2014 when the first book in the series was translated to English it was the first novel by an Asian writer to win a Hugo Award for Best Novel, and was nominated for a Nebula award as well. The books were recently adapted into a TV show in China by...

I ordered the Geek Wold GK20 and a Tiandirenhe TD18 cable (0.78 pin, 8N 100% "high purity monocrystalline copper", 2.5mm/3.5mm/4.4mm modular plugs). I spend some time trying to decide between the Geek Wold GK20 and the Kinera Celest Plutus Beast, which has a somewhat similar graph, but very...

You can check on a third-party price tracking site like pricearchive.org. According to that, most of the time it's been around $300, with periodic dips to $70-80, and the most recent low price of $69.30 on June 19, 2023. It was briefly over $500 on Jan 2, 2023.

I've noticed that third party sellers will sometimes undercut Amazon by a penny or two to get the top spot for a product listing. Whenever possible I choose products shipped from and sold by Amazon.com, which means I'm always checking all the sellers to see if Amazon is in the list, and I pay a...

The first mention I can recall for bio-cellulose is the 1989 Sony MDR-R10. Sony continued to use bio-cellulose in many of their top-end headphones and earphones in the decades after. I didn't see "ChiFi" use the term to describe any of their drivers until maybe 2000 I think? [I had a bit of...

Were you using the 4.4mm balanced connection for your testing? That is the only output that TempoTec claims is 280mW, and unfortunately I don't see the mW output of the 3.5mm connection listed anywhere.

I'm in Northeast MA and because the ground was already saturated, once the rain came and melted most of the 18" of snow, the basement in my 120 year old house took on massive water through the fieldstone foundation. Sump pump + two additonal pumps with hoses out to the street kept the the water...

Yes, years back I spent a lot on an Onkyo DAP with dual MicroSD card slots, and the two 200GB cards were some of the largest I could buy at the time and I think they cost about $100 each. Then got two 400GB when they came out and prices came down a bit. But a couple of years ago I was able to...

AKG in 2017 introduced their N25 IEM, a dual driver IEM which I carry with me in my work bag every day. Nice sound, quality mic and I've always found it handy that it has an iOS/Android switch on the inline controls so I can use it with whatever I plug it into.

I personally wouldn't call that bias, but it makes me feel very uncertain about reviews when a reviewer or site always trends toward positive in their score distribution. To be clear, I'm not mad or worked up about things when they are vague. Just a little sad, is all. I like to read things that I can trust, and often I read things that are vague anyway since I'm always curious, but if it's vague, then I don't know... maybe it's accurate? maybe not? That's...

The plug bands are non-conductive and there is no increase or decrease in channel separation due to the size of the connector. The size of the connector has no impact on power. 2.5mm and 4.4mm are both balanced connections, and assuming the amplifier involved is the same, will perform identically.

Have you tried any of the recent earbuds based on the classic Sennheiser MX500 shell? Those are light, so they won't fall out like a lot of metal-shelled earbuds can since they can just rest lightly in your ear. The best one of those to start with is the Yincrow X6, which runs about $10-15 on...
