    Long time, no post

I'm still about. Large as life and still twice as ugly, perhaps even more terrifying than ever Been busy with work more than anything else. Changed my occupation since last time. I'm now a door supervisor / bouncer so i've been working a lot of nights. I'm no longer involved with the...

How many of you have tinnitus?

I've got it in both ears. The right ear is loud and very noticeable at all times whils the left is not quite as bad but would would still be noticeable at all times. Mine wasn't caused by listening to music though. Rather, it was through a particularly bad bout of the Flu a few years back...

    Long time, no post

Just checking in guys. Wow, there are lots of new names here and some that I remember from a while back. I think it's been a good couple of years if not longer since I last visited here. Anyway, if any of the more established members still remember me drop me a line. Sound as always...

    The Sennheiser HD580 Impressions Thread

Just love mine. I've had the HD580's since 2001 and they have since become a firm favourite. I tend to use them in my bedroom with an old Pioneer SA508 amplifier from 1979 and a 1965 Thorens TD150 w/SME 3009 / Shure M97xE. Sure they have their foibles but what set of cans can be said to...

    AMP for K1000

Wow.... long time no post. Been a while since I last visited here. Anyway the K1000s are an awesome headphone / earspeaker combination. It would be folly to try and drive these from a headphone amplifier because they just don't have enough output to drive them efficiently. The K1000's...

    I've got crabs!

That's not a crab. You should get a pair of Alaskan King Crabs. Now there's a crab for you. Only if you got a pair of those you would need a tank 8x the size of the one you have now

Who Here Has A Tattoo? Pics?

I don't currently have a tattoo but I've recently given consideration to getting one. I thought of this. Getting the international First Aid sign of the Snake (Venom) and the Staff (antidote), tattooed on my upper arm and then getting a tattoo to go right around the other part of the upper...

What's the origin of your username?

I used to be KeVlaR way back when I first joined Head-Fi (only around 100 members then!) and used that Username for ages. Then.... I was threatened with legal action by the Nazi's that owned the copyright to that name and I promptly had to change it. So it got changed to Trawlerman because...

Am I just old fashioned or is this pretty weird behaviour?

Yeah, it's weird but hey.... what that fella does behind closed doors is upto him. There's no law against being a bit kinky that I know of. Hmmm.... come to think about it some people must think us perhaps just a touch weird with our endless lusting for new 'phones and shiny new cd players...

    Emerson TETI 7800L Tuner?

Hey fellas, Can anybody tell me anything about this? I'm looking at getting one from the 'Bay for a play about with. I just love the FM band but feel that all these digital-synth tuners seem to be lacking a certain something in their sound. I've decided to have a go with an all...

I forgot how good Reel-To-Reel can sound

This is a great thread guys. I've been reading it with great interest. It's refreshing to see people talk with such love for a seemingly bygone format. Fred's comments about the Marvin Gaye reel sounding better than the recent SACD release will surely have some people rolling in the aisles...

BBC/Total Guitar magazine's poll of best "Riff"

The start of "Bad To The Bone" by George Thorogood and the Destroyers. You know which one I mean. It's used in the Terminator II film when Arnie is in the bikers bar. Classic stuff. Another one. Perhaps not a riff, but excellent all the same. The start of WE WILL ROCK YOU by...
