None, ever since I went a gig and was right at the front; had tinnitus for 4 days. Most horrible thing ever everything was soo quiet and isolated. Since then I've always worn my ER-20s to gigs and clubs.

But then I'm 18, so I might just be lucky for now.

Seriously; I did! Weekends mess up my schedule.

I've got it in both ears. The right ear is loud and very noticeable at all times whils the left is not quite as bad but would would still be noticeable at all times.

Mine wasn't caused by listening to music though. Rather, it was through a particularly bad bout of the Flu a few years back. Although i'm sure listening to as much music as I do has surely had some effect.

I visited the ENT specialist back in November last year and he indicated that I would benefit from a digital hearing aid. I'm still waiting to hear back from the NHS on that point.

I've gotten a bit complacent about it these days. There's very little that I can do about it so why worry? It's just a little annoying that I can't enjoy my rig to the fullest extent though.

Mine isn't really consist. Some days I really have to concentrate to hear any ringing, even in completely quiet environments. Yet for some reason I woke up with pretty loud tinnitus this morning, but it seems to be fading now. Also, whenever I get a fever, it comes with REALLY REALLY LOUD ringing, but when my fever gets better, it disappears. Does this happen to anybody else?

Just curious is it enteric coated aspirin causing the tinnitus?

this may sound weird but i can actually make the high pitched ringing sound if i move my lower jaw forward extremely, and my ear picks up that sound.

i didn't know i had it until i read this thread. I always thought it was normal to head a slight ringing in silence?

and i can remember hearing it when i was maybe 10? when i got an ear infection around that time

it dosn't bother me though. If i concentrate on it i can make it real loud, or just block it out from my head.

I'm actually really surprised how great ears are at bouncing back.
I had a firecracker go off near my ear (blackcat from about 3-4ft) and I had tinnitous for about a four days.
I also had that "clipping sounds", "buzzing", "cutting out" phenomenon somebody described. Normal sounds would
actually cut out on me, especially ones over like 70db though it was an amazing reality check about the delicacy and
fragility of my ears. Everything has normalized, but I'm sure I've lost some of the real high end. I'll probably get an
exam sometime.

I hate it! I did it to myself, m)#(*% idiot I was exposing myself to way too loud soundlevels for way too long as a teenager. I only hear it when its silent though, could be worse, much worse, but do I miss total dead black silence.. Oh what I wouldnt give for that! GRRRR!!! I recently went to get my hearing checked for fun, it turned out to be perfectly fine with obvious age drop off at the very high frequency area. Which makes the 39800 Hz that my headphones do, totally ridiculous and unnecessary

Take care of your hearing reckless teens! Those little hairs break off for good.

Tinnitus is the sound of silence. Anyone who doesn't hear tinnitus is either deaf or lying.

I'm wondering if it had something to do with the bass. You may have just wanted more highs and turned them up accordingly.

I have mild tinitus in my left ear, but not from music. Rather from a couple poorly placed shotgun shots.

I voted "No tinnitus" because I don't have audio related tinnitus. I had it a lot as a kid and now I get it whenever my allergies are acting up.

Not sure what category I fall in, but every once in a while I'll hear a ringing in one of my ears. It usually clears up within seconds. I feel like tinnitus needs a better medical definition.
