Sony Z1R....listening impressions only
Mate leave him. Lets just assume since the POME's have their Brexit now, everything is 50% of the market value compared to the rest of the world. I'm absolutely enjoying the Z1R for 1600USD. If it ever break, this would be a shame but i would not spend 800USD to bye a backup right now.- michael4321

New Beyerdynamic T5p 2nd generation
Just be warned. My T5P second gen never burned in or had significant changes. This highs are always there and will destroy your hearing after 2+ hours. However the T5P have potiential to be really good by fixing the comfort issue with Dekoni Choice Leather or DT1990 pads and simply EQ the dip...- michael4321

T5p 2nd - Holographic 3D 🤔??
I can confirm, that it is detectable. Sometimes is there is the feeling, that the sound plays in a small/midsize room. Especially voices are often positioned away from you in the back of the room. It goes away, when you Equalize the 2.3 to 3 Khz section with +5-6 db. An Equalizer is needed to...- michael4321

Mostly neutral headphones with extended, elevated subbass
I remember there was model matching your description stores in the "Ark of the Covenant". All the best wishes with your quest to find the holy grail. Hope you are successful. I would love love a 598 sounded headphone which does not have typical drop of bass below 100hz like any other headphone...- michael4321

That is great news. However this sounds a little different from having the headband stretched and the pads compressed all the time.- michael4321

Fight between multi headphones?
I'm mainly using the Sony MDR-Z1R for everything. But in case I want the music to kick me in the head and knock some teeth out, then I open the LCD2C box.- michael4321

Shure SRH-840 upgrade — low extension and overall resolution
If you come from a SRH-840 and want better bass extension and slightly less highs, then you should try a Beyerdynamic DT1350. If you have seal , the DT1350 is matching your criteria. However the comfort is different, because it is a very light headphone. I had 2 SRH-840 and had to gave up on...- michael4321

Sony Z1R....listening impressions only

Beyerdynamic T5 (3rd Generation)
From the Beyerdynamic website description of the T5-3rd gen : "The third-generation T5 achieves better, more natural reproduction of high mid-range frequencies. This means the sound signature is even more realistic." I'm assuming the removed the dip in the 2 to 3.4khz section. This is exactly...- michael4321

Beyerdynamic T5 (3rd Generation)
The 3rd generation looks a cheaper compared to 2nd gen. The metal cut of the T5p is missing. The outside of the cup seems to be a print not a pattern anymore. I'm a fan of the 2nd generation, but it requires a lot of effort to make it work. The stock pads are absolute uncomfortable disaster.- michael4321
