My gear, and no doubt ears have changed since owning an xDSD but that was the best sounding amp/dac I have heard. iFi are definitely worth at least trying, the new idsd BL is coming out with 4.4mm.
I'm really considering getting the Neo when it's released. I was looking at the iDSD Signature but the Neo seems like it's more what I'm looking for over something with a battery that will go out over time and since I leave my stuff on for days at a time that isn't going to work.
If I like the sound of Pioneer SE-Master 1 will this Sony headphone be for me? Is nearly impossible to hear it at the moment in London, so I would like to know more about it.
Also it seems lighter and more comfortable 385 gr vs SEM1 460 Gr.

I'm not sure about the Pioneer, but it seems like they're also polarizing and received less than stellar reviews, with people complaining about the highs just like some do about the Z1R. I'm pretty sure you'll love the Sonys, but just get them somewhere with a return policy and give them a couple of weeks of listening. Like amazon, unless you can get a better deal elsewhere : https://www.amazon.fr/Sony-MDR-Z1R-...hild=1&keywords=mdr+z1r&qid=1604921875&sr=8-2

The combo of my A50s amp and my Mimby have really opened up the sound of the Z1R in a very good way. I feel like the mids come through better now which is a huge plus as that's the one area that was starting to disappoint me about the headphone. I do wish they had a little more clarity overall but I knew going in that wasn't what this headphone was about and I do love the bass and soundstage which would be impressive even if it were an open back headphone.
