New Beyerdynamic T1 (2nd Generation)

Sadly the headband seems to be the weak-spot of the T1. If mine ever deteriorates, I may just get the headband from one of the cheaper DT Beyers or the gaming line of Beyers and use those headbands as they will fit while trying to keep the T1 yoke as I heard the T1 headband is expensive to replace.

T1 headband replacement kit is 600 EUR. Nobody will pay that. I think Amiron headband matches the T1, but I never tried.

The Amiron Home and DT 1770/1990 headband may work. I have a spare DT 1770 headband from a defective DT 1770 so I'll try it. It would have to be a cheaper Beyer such as the TYGR 300 R, DT 880 Edition, etc.as those use the same exact yoke clasps as the T1.2. I have a black T1, so I would want the TYGR 300 R/Custom Game/MMX 300/DT 880 Pro headband as it is a pro one with easily removable headband pads and due to that I may be able to keep the T1 yoke without destroying the headband material.

Edit: The DT 1770 headband yokes won't fit into the T1's yoke clasp, so a no go, unless I swap the yokes and I will only do that if the T1 headband is truly shot. That means the Amiron Home headband won't work either.

You can get a brand new T1 for that money. That's crazy.

I was a bit disappointed when the headband on my T1 started fraying recently, but then I found this headband cover on Amazon. Problem solved!

T1.2 sound great with Teac UD503 in balanced. I Know the source is not as good, I'm looking for a streamer without dac. By the way xbox one S spdif output, using deezer hifi app, is not bad.

I just purchased this headband cover based on your advise and couldn't be more pleased. It's well made, perfect fit, and more comfortable than without. 20200907_145550.jpg

Thanks much!!!

Been spending some days with the gen 3, it sounds nothing like the gen 2. These are two very different headphones. They went a completely different direction in tuning the T1.3, it's powerful and robust sounding with notably darker treble but at the same time has a wider soundstage. Big and powerful is how I would describe it's sound in simple terms. This comparison is going to be interesting, I am not finding it technically inferior despite it's lower impedance.
