Why do Koss only make 'one' decent headphone ?

You know..I have an Onkyo receiver and I don't think I've tried this. My favorite amps for it are the Total Airhead and Headroom Micro Amp.
I think my DJ100/Frankenstein monster now will be even better for movies now that it's open. My DJ100 is in the HD-497 shell to make it fully open and I actually now prefer it for games than my HD-598!
The soundstage of the DJ100 is massive when fully open..who would have known! It's sound clarity has also went through the roof and I don't know why being open would change this. That driver is really something else.
 
I actually just bought some piece of junk $25 open 40mm headphone with the hope the DJ100 driver would fit in there. It's made by "Jwin"

I modded the HD-497 to fit MDR-V6 pads (it was very easy and cost pennies), but there's not enough room when they're attached to the HD-497. It'd be nice to get even better pads.
The RX300 pads are OK, but NOT on the HD-497!
 
It's weird having such a tiny HD-497 and the soundstage is so huge. About time my HD-497 sounded decent. I just had to remove it's drivers

I think the HD-497 gets my vote as the ugliest headphone ever made.

Yes and no - we can probably all cite instances of that happening with phones from Senn, Beyer and A-T. Grado, of course, has the SR125/SR325 'dynamic duo' that seems to have many reaching for their SR60/MS1 : personally, I'd take the AD900 or the DT440 over a lot of the more specialised cans that cost more. The latter just seem to polarise people - real love/hate cans. Just try to get consensus on the higher end Beyers, for example ......

The DT1350 is my favorite Beyer.  Better than the T50P everywhere.  Better than the 770 everywhere but comfort.  Better than the 880/990/T1 everywhere but comfort and the size of the soundstage.
 
Haven't heard the T5P though.
 
EDIT:  It might lose to the T1 in imaging too.  I haven't heard it in a while.  Tonality is far superior to my ears though.

maverickronin, I can *guarantee* that there are other Head-Fiers that have a view that is 180 degrees away from yours, and I havent even heard any of those phones. I spent a lot of time downloading reviews and collecting impressions on said Beyers, and its a (potentially very expensive) minefield : so much safer in my mid-fi world.

I know, that was my point.  My opinion is a bit contrary.  

 
I don't really like any of the other Beyers I've owned or heard.  I bought the DT1350s based on their excellent measurements and I'm quite happy with them so far.
