Which is the best headphone you have (or have tried) in terms of price/quality ratio?

Easily the HD650 or HE-500

Considering the HE-500's are now going for around $300 they are a real steal and one of my long time favourites. They didn't hold their value like the HE-6 which makes them an even better buy as they have about 96% of the performance of the HE-6 in my opinion. I really enjoy my HE-500's :D

96% of HE-6 is huge in performance value. How about efficiency of the drivers? I hope it doesn't take an hefty amp to drive to potential.

I currently have the HE 4xx, AKG 7xx, HD598, Sony MDR1A, Bose QC35 running off the iFi Nano BE > Arcam rhead (fantastic amp btw)
Thank you for mentioning that amp, or i would never have found out about it. Ordered 1 hour later, delivered today. Awesomeness!

To be on topic I'd say the Philips Fidelio X2 for ~130 is ridicolous cheap!

How is the build quality for you? I've heard some bad news about that and the warranty.

Hands down: the Martin Logan Mikros 90 (supra aural) closed portables. $59 on clearance (when ML, unfortunately decided to stop marketing headphones).
Still on my list of the top 3 sets of headphones, absolutely speaking, that I have ever owned/heard.

The build quality on the older hifiman is pretty good albeit basic. Nothing fancy, but for me it works. I've had an he400, he4, and bought an he400 frame to build a custom headphone into, all never had any issues as far as build goes. My he4 is bare driver most of the time, no grills no dust cloth, sitting on a headphone hook in the open, havnt had any issues, had them for 5 years I believe.

My vote would be my Focal Elears. I enjoy these as much as my more expensive Sennheiser HD 800 S cans.

i bought them for 310 dollars, they are phenomenal, with big aftermarket pads the soundstage is very big and the imaging is precise with physical impact to the sub bass, i have no urge for other headphones after them and i tried a lot

I'm surrounded by headphones all day :D but yes I love my HE-500 and they are truly excellent, especially for the prices they are selling at currently.
