I read hundreds of postings about Senn 650s and AKG701s. I also called Headroom and ran some questions and musical tastes by one of their phone reps. Finally decided on the 701s, based largely on the kinds of music I'm most likely to enjoy in private and on their sonic signature.

So far, I'm absolutely thrilled. I've never experienced a sound stage like this before, and it keeps getting better.

The best prophylactic for upgrade-itis is bankruptcy. Some of you have also experimented with it and found it less effective as a cure.

If I remember correctly I found this forum when doing research on the KSC-50 which I bought. I also used the site to research on the portapros.

I didn't officially became a Head-fier until I got the HD201 based on other's reviews, then found out about the mods I can do to it and all the different Amps I can get.

Years ago researching IEM's and got some NuForce NE-7M 's from looking here.
 
Next serious visit years later I had a pair of Elega 232's to identify, after a few weeks I got some AKG K240M 's 600 ohm.
As of now though it's gone too far and still rolling along with nobody behind the wheel and a brick on the gas pedal.

Denon D2000's about 3 years ago. Oh how far I've come and how much I've experienced   What a fun ride. Each headphone you learn a little more about yourself, and satisfy that nagging itch to try something out. The longer times goes on the more refined my tastes have become

Came to head-fi looking to research Bose QNC15(?).....Ended up buying a Klipsch S5i to replace my apple earbuds (thanks to the deals thread, found out there was a discount at B&H last feb).

Then the VSonic GR07, last week.
 
Almost bought a used Grado 325is here as well, but it got sold during the time I was hesitating about it.
 
My wallet is praying there won't be a very attractive deal this 4th of July.....

read about dt770s , remember using them in audio engineering school in 2001, went out and bought them right away.
that was about 2-3 months ago, and a bunch of headphones later i have rediscovered a part of myself i had forgot about.

I lurked the site for about a year, and the only reason I originally joined was to buy an ortho. I even sold my A500 to buy a PMB100, but couldn't buy it after the idea was shot down by my mom who didn't think I needed more than two headphones. I think the first headphone I bought because of Head-Fi was the Audio Technica A500, and the first one I bought after joining was the KSC75 after I saw that Ratshack was selling them for $5. Then a one year hiatus, then I bought 4 headphones (RP50, ATH-2, DT48, and Technician VFR) within a week...

Came looking for Bose OE replacement. Left with a new sound card and Denon D2000s. That was last August. Now have a FiiO E7 and E9. Just a month ago I was satisfied with my E7. Now Im about to buy some Pro700mk2s. I can stop anytime I want though. 0.o
