What was your first headphone purchase after coming to Head-Fi?

Got the HD600's about a week after I came here...got a Tangent-built META a month or so after that. Now I'm looking at getting a pair of DT770s or maybe 831s.

EDIT: Forgot to mention I just ordered the Equinox cable as well.

Grado SR80. I stumbled on head-fi.org while researching what headphones to buy, ignored posts containing the string "grato" and focussed on the good points

Very pleased with them, but I've just seen some Senn 600s for £140 (new), which is just under $200US.

This could get expensive. Oh, and I bought a Supermini headphone amp which is superb with the Grados.

HD497, then i upgraded to HD580. then I realized I needed a portable phone so I bought both the D66, D22, and E888. Then I sold the D22 and replaced it with KSC-35. Then I sold both D66 and E888 and replaced them with ER4P. I am pretty happy with my KSC35/ER4P/HD580 combination.

Well, I've lurked for three weeks or so, and went ahead and bought a pair of Etymotic 4P's, with a 4S adapter cable.

They came today.

So far, so good. Sounds lovely, and all the nasty noise from my computers is simply gone. That part, I like a lot.

Probably next will be an amp of some sort. Meta42 looks good to me. I suspect I'll email one of the common builders and ask some boneheaded questions, lurk a little more, (wait for a paycheck...) and then buy one.

Suggestions are happily welcomed.

I only lasted about a week before I went out and purchased Grado's SR80s online. A week later, I bought NADs C541i and traded in my SR80s for the SR125s. I then upgraded my interconnects with AudioNote's AN-A "entry level copper Litz construction interconnect".
I sometimes wish I'd never stumbled across this forum. Then I go home, put my headphones on, feed the CDP my fav disc and melt away all the days anxieties

I cam here while shopping for something better than my Kenwood headphones.
The first thing I purchased was my DT250-80, Ety ER-6, and a Headroom Total Airhead.

The Kenwoods I had were thought to be quality. They cost me like 60 bucks or so. I can't remember the model, I gave them away shortly after hearing the Beyers.

Let's see here. I just joined this Sunday, (8-03-03).

About a week before I came here, a friend of mine let me barrow his Sennheiser HD525's which I'm buying from him along with a DSP 360 headphone amp for $50.

Sunday, I bought a pair of HD580's from AudioGon for $105 after looking around here all day.

Monday, I bought a pair of HD600's from here for $180.

Yesturday I took the day off! lol

Today, I just bought a HeadRoom Cosmic with p/s in "new" shape for $200, also from here.

I think that's it for this week. Probably for the rest of the month.

I bought a pair of KSC-35's(owned Grado SR-60's and Sportapros before joining this place).

Thanks to this place, am now pondering a pair of CD3000's and a Meta42 amp.
