Stax SR007A MK2. I love the lambskin, and the material never feels sweaty or sticky, even after extended listening sessions. The elastic band at the top is ace, too, and is such a good design innovation as you never need to adjust the headphone fit.
I didn't test the SR009 long enough to say definitively, but I think it comes very close to the SR007A MK2. I wish the pads were a little thicker, but the SR009 feels even lighter than the SR007A which is a plus.
I’m very impressed with the Sennheiser 500 series. They are right weight and the pressure is well distributed around the ears and the top of the head. You can also rest the side of your head on a pillow and they still maintain their comfort.
Probably the Sennheiser HD518, I haven't tried the 558 or 598 but the 518 fit perfectly to me. The clamping force is strong, and the pads are soft. This is exactly what I want in my headphones, and my Ultrasone PRO550 just gets blown away by the HD518 in turns of comfort.
Indeed, it is just amazingly comfortable. I have no clue why Sennheiser abandoned the frame design of HD5x0 series and went current crappy one, which just super inferior.
And sound is also amazing, if Tyll had not hated these headphones, HD590 might had been long-time recommendation for many people.
I thought the Grado SR60i headphones were ridiculously comfortable. I could wear those things for 20 hours at a time - and have, but that's beside the point.
Having the T1 now and having used the DT 880 before, I'd say the DT 880 is more comfortable than the T1 but not by much. These are both more comfortable than the SR60i.
