What cans do you plan on buying in 2010?

HD600 or RS1i : that will be it for me. Sure, there are lots of newer, sexier headphones, but that will always be the case. If anything, I'd prefer to get a decent desktop amp and be done with it : one-off DAC upgrades and the like would give me some new toy joy beyond that, but changing kit every 3-6 months doesnt appeal.

I agree. With all the profiteering of late I'm feeling that I will leave buying of $1500 headphones to those who are more hardcore than myself.

Actually my 2010 plan is to sell some of my phones and just enjoy the end result of this hobby (good sound).

I'll still keep an eye on AKG and Shure.

Hopefully something around the middle of the pack. Maybe from Audio Technica, I don't really know. All I have now are lower-class headphones, but I feel like an upgrade is in order.

K1000 successor, hopefully. I'd also like to listen to T1. I might consider these if they are significantly better than my K701.

I will be delving into the HFI780 this coming year. I have really got into the Ultrasones. Definitely enjoying their energy. very fun. I am also debating getting the ESW9A this year. Not sure if I will pull it off. I have read good things about them. But for portable use, I have to be honest, I will have a hard time putting down my PortaPros. That's the best 39 dollars I have ever spent in my entire life.

My audio budget for the year will be spend on a mid level DAC w/ optical input such as the Cambridge DACmagic. Maybe, just maybe, I might pick up a K1K later in the year, around Christmas. I am going through a rather furious upgrade period right now, with my HE-5 on the way and my Beta 22 build waiting for me when I finish exams in 2 weeks.

My dream would be buying a nice pair of HD-650's but Money is tight right now, and I allready have W3's and HD-595 so I may just sit this year out on the sidelines.

If my HP-1s don't sell, then I will probably send them in to Joe Grado for refurbishment. In addition to this, the following are on my wish list:

- Either HE-5 or DT880-600
- Maxed WA6SE
- HR Ultra DAC
- Maybe some J$ pads for my D7000, but, honestly, I don't hear anything lacking in these phones. We'll see.
