Not specifically.  But a new W4R's being sent without question leads me to conclude there was a problem with them.

In another testament to the quality of Westone's customer service is that if I shipped them in they were willing to evaluate them at no charge and ship them back at their expense (if nothing proved wrong with them).

OK great thank you so much.. I've seen the new ones in Toronto at the headfone shop.. Which is where I usually go to get any product.. Charles is a great guy to deal with and great service.. Anyways I seen the new ones and they look way more comfortable then the older ones plus you can if I'm not mistaken change the plastic pieces to have one blue and one red.. Or whatever combination you want which I think is really cool.. The only thing that I don't like is that they changes the connections to the shure like connection.. Not sure if it's the exact connections but they look like it.. What a drag.. I bought my w4r"s about two months or so before the new ones came out.. . They just look soooo more comfy.. Maybe I'll just get the new w3 or the new 30..i have the w4r but want something a little more fun to have with them..

What does the Fiio X3 do to the W4?  I use the Ibasso T3 analog.  I get a little more clarity and juice but it's not earth shattering or anything.  EQ tendencies are the same/uneffected which I suppose is what you want an amp to perform like.

I'm in Australia as well. Please share the experience here once you got any of those cable I'm interested to know if there is any sound quality or signature difference.

Brian GoTo from BTG audio has told me in private message that cable material will not give any sound quality enhancement at all, only cosmetics and durability.

That comes from one of the best audio cable maker that I know sharing his honest opinion.

Thanks for the clarification, so far with no amp and directly connected to the iPhone playing 320 Kbps mp3 I feel that W4 is not as sparkly as UE 700. So yes I've never used any other cable apart from the stock cable.

Hopefully this silver cable can give more bright texture and more details to the high.

It will indeed do what you're asking, extract more detail and give W4R a nice crisp edge (among other things) I cannot recommend it highly enough. Just be aware it has some cable noise. I've ordered the cable 3 times and would happily purchase another if need be.
