VSONIC GR07 Impressions Thread

Longtime fan of the GR07 sound until the cables gave out. Don't really want to risk $350 for GR09, so grabbed the 11/11 deal for GR07AE and hoping for the best. Paid about $150 after applying coupons.

Planning to make it my daily driver. IIRC, the original 07 manufacturer's instructions include burn-in for 170 hours to sound their best. Would this be again the case for 07AE?

If this is the same driver as GR09 than You need to burn them in for 500+ hour.

Oh man, just what I needed to hear lol. Website also mentions 20 hours of white noise followed by 10 hours of pink noise which had me thinking why can't they do it at the end of the manufacturing process.

The GR07 37th Anniversary Edition requires 500hrs+ of burn in?
We are speculating since they use the same carbon nanotube drivers as GR09. Regular GR07 uses the biocellulose drivers instead which needs 170 hours of burn-in as per VSonic's instructions.

God damn burn-in... The GR09 sounds great out of the box. The GR07X sounds great out of the box. The regular GR07s sounds great out of the box. No need to force whatever hours through the IEM and wasting your precious return/refund window... if you don't like it, you don't like it. Return it and try something else.

So with GR07AE's on Tmall/Taobao and LendMeUrEars, where's the best place to find GR07X's? Only see them on chinese markets.

Maybe this has been iterated, but I wish a solution could be pinned for visitors:
how's the sound differences between GR07 vs. GR07 Bass vs. GR07X vs. GR07AE vs. GR09?

Thanks:) the GR07 is good enough for me. It sounds good just change the tips and do a deep insert.

GR07 Classic: Mild V-shape, 6k peak, slightly subdued upper treble
GR07 Bass: Same as Classic with less upper treble
GR07X: Flattest of all the VSonics with a upper treble boost
GR09: Sub-bass boost, laid back treble, warmest of the lot
GR07AE (not my impressions): Similar to GR09 with no sub-bass boost, like a warm GR07X if anything.
