I've owned my GR07 for two years now

Is there anyone here who can recommend a nice BA headphone for a fellow GR07 lover? Sony XBA-30? I've been meaning to buy a dual BA (I've had a single in the past). A compliment headphone would be nice - not something which sounds obviously inferior

The XBA-30 would be good, but they are really picky about the source.

How much are you wanting to spend?

I thought I was bad for converting my library from mp3 to flac.

Please tell me that either by "converting" you mean re-buying or re-ripping OR this was ridiculously good dry humor.

Well judging from eBay the XBA-30 and TDK BA200 suggested below can be had for around $150, which is about what I'd spend. I didn't look closely at the sellers though. My source would be the old Sony Walkman S618

They're down to around $120 on Amazon right now. I just bought mine, couldn't pass up such a great deal.

I guess the budget-minded would like it, can't fault anybody for that. I figure I've already spent the dough on the GR07, so there's no need for them in my case. If you've auditioned the GR07s but can't afford them, then it seems like a good choice. Carry on.

"Have some respect to the song" -- lmao, are you being serious?

Apparently yes. I listen to songs that are ought to be respected. Not just some random worthless beat/noise/groove most kids/kids that don't look like kids are listening nowadays.

Put the headphones (I know they're called IEMS) in your ears and enjoy the sounds. You guys are taking music too seriously.

I won't be enjoying it with the channels reversed. I know some people won't too that's why I said good for you. This is head-fi, where most people value fidelity, that is why.

I feel like the GR07 is the LCD-2's little baby brother... Anyone else feels this way? :D

Nope. The bass is good on the gr07 but the bass on the lcd2 is world class. LCD2 has a darker presentation where the gr07 is bright/neutral on presentation overall. Just different IMO.

I enjoy my GR07's but i just recieved my FX700's finally. The bass texture is on another level from the GR07. The FX700 is far from being flat, but it Wow's me alot more then the GR07. The FX700 is only $50 more then the GR07 aswell. Comparing the LCD-2 and FX700 is closer then the GR07 in the bass department imo. Having only heard the LCD-2 once it was a lovely phone, but performance to price deterred me.

I owned both at the same time and preferred the GR07s lows, by a long shot. I remember thinking that the FX-700 was slow, bloated and cumbersome, in comparison. I also used to get frustrated at the FX-700s brilliant mids being marred by recession... not to mention the excessive sound leakage and awful isolation. The highs amazed me, and the soundstage impressed... but I generally felt the GR07 to be an all around better phone.

I also preferred the FXT90 to the FX-700, which was less refined, but more cohesive and practical. I rated that almost on par with my beloved GR07, which I'd still own today, if it hadn't been stolen.

I'm awaiting delivery of the VSD1, which will hopefully fill the vsonic shaped hole.
