ERLKONIG are built in batches. If they sell through their built batch then there can be a slightly longer wait time for clients to recieve their order as the batch is built.

Yeah I got lucky being able to get mine virtually instantly, because when I enquired about it months ago it was about a 2-3 week wait.

I believe he was referring to the universal elysium though.

Yep, I’ve demo’ed the Ely quite extensively and it was love at first listen :) hoping to get it by mid-May though.
Why mid May? I was under the impression they’re available and ready to ship? VE shipping is super quick. I ordered my Erlkonig Monday and received it Wednesday.

Hi there,
shipping will start mid of May (~2nd week). At that point we will go by order-date ==> First come, first serve. We really appreciate all of your enthusiasm and give our best to provide the units as soon as possible.

@aaf evo : The EVE20 and ELYSIUM uni are new products. That is why they will need some time to be shipped. Especially because we have to serve the first wave of orders. This is always exciting as well as a challenge.

All the best,

Johannes

Great read as always Deezel, would you mind sharing how they compare to the Solaris?

What you said about the punchyness has me intrigued.

Thank you! Unfortunately, I don't have the Solaris to make that comparison for you. The best I can do from memory is say that the EVE 20 probably has a more vibrant, more transparent midrange. I remember the Solaris's upper-mid dip being an issue for some people. And, the EVE 20 should also be a bit calmer in the higher-most treble; slightly less emphasis on the air frequencies, but not rolled-off in any way. That's all I can say without a direct comparison. But, I'm sure there'll be other reviewers who own both the EVE 20 and the Solaris, who'll be able to better answer your question. :)

The VE website seems to suggest that it's closest to the VE8 of all their other IEMs. I'm really curious about it an am trying to mitigate the temptation right now lol.

With the lockdown here it's hard to resist shopping lmao. I'm fortunate enough to still have a job and am even saving more due to working from home (no gas and parking).

I'll probably decide once more comparisons with the VE8 comes about.

Basically this is what happened to me and how I ended up with the Erlkonig. I ordered a custom Elysium March 16th and they closed everything March 17th, really wanted a VE IEM and didn't want to wait and I knew I liked the Erlkonig too even though it's different than the Elysium. Regardless, no regrets, absolutely insane IEM.

Yeah man tell me about it...I've never been as happy with my setup as I am right now but there is always temptation looming if for no other reason than variety. It doesn't help that I've been hoping for an entry level VE universal as long as I've been in this hobby...

One of the most pleasurable unboxing experiences I’ve had. No need to post any more pics as they’re readily available online.

Enjoying the listen :)

I have not seen what comes in the box. Please provide some more pics. I was always wondering if the beautiful box was just for the press presentation. Obviously it comes with it. I would appreciate more pics of the box with its contents, their look with the cable and the faceplate you chose. Tks.

Does anyone here have any advice as to how well VE does with custom fits as compared to EE? I have had 2 CIEMs before this and both had to undergo extensive refits. I just want something to use right out of the box!
What you can ask VE to do is send you a sample to fit in your ears first. They will be cheap plastic. If their fit is good, send them back and they will use them to make your IEM. They did this for me. Tks.

You don’t get to choose the faceplates. The erlkonig comes with the standard silver/black ones that you see them pictured with online. Here’s what the inside of the wooden box looks like.
