Oh really? I must have misunderstood you when I asked about it :/ :frowning2:
Yes I think so bud - you asked me if I had any other purple cable that was thinner, which I don't.

Yeah it was a miscommunication and misunderstanding on my part...sorry for spreading fake news lol

Talking about Color synergy, you can never forget the luxury of Black and Gold with some highlight of red from Phonix and EVE 20.

I've recently been using the VE8 with the Cayin RU6. Unfortunately, there are some songs that are on the sharp side of the spectrum. Is there an EQ setting you can recommend? I had also considered the Ifi Match but I'm not sure if that will help

When I had the VE8 I EQ'd 8k down a bit for that reason.

I didn’t know you did EQ. Yes, the VE8 can be quite bright at times. For me, I can tolerate 8k better than 6k peaks.

I toy with it sometimes...though if I need to EQ something to enjoy it I won't be keeping it.

Well I had the VE8 2 years ago and found it a bit sibilant and bright so I played around with dropping the 8k and 8k buttons just a wee bit. How effective this will be will depend on your player and how good the EQ is.

Sound consists of several components. When I use the Astell Kern SR 25 or the Acoustic Research M2 I don't have any sharpness in the sound, but with the Cayin RU6 I do. But my principles don't immediately stand in my way, so I don't listen to music with the RU6 as a matter of principle. At a time when it feels like a new $2000+ flagship comes out every week, it's easy to forget to appreciate what you have. Unless you have to justify your new investment.

The VE8 was and still is a fantastic, detailed, very well tuned and emotional high-end in-ear.
