How many hours were on those when tested, I wonder? Sounds like out-of-the-box impressions. Some also mentioned the overwhelming bass and edgy upper mids.

Out of the box, I heard zero edginess with the EXT. The bass is tightening up with burn-in though. How many hours were on those when tested, I wonder? Sounds like out-of-the-box impressions.
So, wildcat, how long are you burning that baby in?Out of the box, I heard zero edginess with the EXT. The bass is tightening up with burn-in though.

It has been about 50 hours so far, treble has become a little more even, and the clarity in the bass has improved quite a bit.
I don’t recall since I’m trying to veer away from this thread so I don’t spend money, but are you using the stock cable or one from your arsenal?
I'm using the EVO’s Genisis or the Totem, both are a big step up from stock. Any music or cables you want me to test with them?
Not for me. The bass only gets notably forward at louder listening levels. It’s balanced and natural otherwise to my ears.Anyone who got the EXT already, do you feel any fatigue due to too much bass on the unit?

EXT has more midbass, but similar quality and slow/textured presentation. EXT is a little more focused on the bass within the signature as a whole imoFor those who have heard the IE 900, would you say EXT's bass is about the same level overall in the signature?
EXT is more V-shaped than IE900.For those who have heard the IE 900, would you say EXT's bass is about the same level overall in the signature?
Saw you have Layla. I never heard the Layla but I can say from frequency response graphs (inc. measurement of demo unit EXT I heard the other day), EXT has about the same bass as Layla at the max bass level if both normalized at 1khz. Also, EXT has much more upper energy. Hope this helps your decision. Fatigue-wise you can probably tell from my previous impressions.Anyone who got the EXT already, do you feel any fatigue due to too much bass on the unit?
