I will test the SHIO when it arrives. I intend to use it with my IEMs, Grado SR80 x and ATH-WP900.
If I do not like it, I will sell it and look elsewhere

I don't know why I keep replying to you, I guess I am a masochist....and i don't remember the OP asking to drive only sensitive stuff, and the HD650 is not particularly hard to drive, but the SHIO is just a DAC without AMP. So yeah people will probably regret it especially with the advertising "SHIO can carry most earphones on the market" on their website.

I think @OspreyAndy ranked those Cirrus DACs and DC04 Pro scores better. It is in the same tier of Cayin and Centrancehallo...
i want search dongle for jack bal 4.4
which is better Sound Quality, esp in term of technicallities : imaging, layering, depth, separation, micro details, soundstage 3d holograph...
the option in my market local :
1. xduoo link 2 bal max.
2. ibasso dc04 pro.
3. moondrop dawn 4.4.
i only talk bout SQ from 4.4 bal. coz my cable all plug 4.4 now.
nevermind if have 3,5 and 4,4 in one dongle, if the output bal 4.4 is the best than other.
thanks
Oh another wise guy...you keep replying because it is your job to sell gear
Yep, it runs warm. Those two amps chips are wild. Lucky I dont have hard to drive IEMs. Low/medium gain keeps temperature more under control. Eco mode is trash though, it runs only through 1 amp chip, but solves the heat issueDC04 Pro gets very toasty with long usage of more than an hour. Anyone else?
no reply at Ambient Blue-eyedMonkey , this is very reassuring indeed
How does it compare to your Zen DAC 2?WHAT WE LIKE:
[Source: Headphonesty]
- Solid build, with detachable cable.
- 4.4mm (balanced) and 3.5mm (single-ended) outputs available. Low and high gain options.
- No EMI.
- Does not get hot with long listening sessions.
- Warm analogue signature, fatigue-free musical tuning.
- Natural timbre.
Sounds good enough to me (at least at the price and for intended purpose)
