OK. So Media volume is actually controlling the same volume as UAPP's hw volume (i.e. Dragonfly's internal volume), but just within a more limited adjustment range? (Which would explain why it doesn't matter for playback fidelity where Media volume is set at.)

I finally had some time to check this out. It is controlling hardware volume, but since the controls are not coupled, the range of the media slider does not match the range in UAPP. Basically, it only makes sense to use the volume up/down buttons. The problem is that when UAPP's screen is in front, we can block the volume dialog from popping up and blocking the change of the media volume. This does however not work, when UAPP is not in front, which is why you see the media volume changing.

Thank you for the confirmation; that's exactly what I eventually figured out must be happening.

Now Tasker sets my Media volume at midpoint upon every UAPP launch, so there is always enough adjustment range in both directions, when I'm outside of the UAPP/BubbleUPnP UI. I'm happy.

Yesterday and today, when trying to add a file into Android BubbleUPnP's playlist, I've encountered an error "Track 'Modified or deleted file' not available' (or playable, can' remember), followed by something about URL not available. I've never seen this error before, has it been introduced in one of the recent UAPP updates? Bubbleguuum said this is a message from the renderer (UAPP in my case).

This seems to have something to do with switching from Wifi to LTE, while UAPP is running. All the while, MinimServer is normally browsable in Android BubbleUPnP, so the URL is definitely available and network working. Furthermore, previously UAPP has had no problem when the connection changes from Wifi to LTE. Both the Wifi and LTE signals are very strong, so that is not an issue.

Closing and restarting UAPP/BubbleUPnP didn't help. Anyway to override this, or force UAPP to recheck the URL?

EDIT: Been trying to reproduce this but can't. Would one possible explanation for this error be that the server PC is asleep? Maybe Windows fell back asleep and MinimServer appeared browsable because the contents remained cached in BubbleUPnP. I dunno. I enabled logging in BubbleUPnP in case this happens again.

Will offline listening be supported for Google Music via USB audio?

Kind of. The Google Music URL is only active for one minute, so what happens is that the entire song (and the next) is downloaded to an offline cache. The song gets an indication (offline) behind it. You can play these songs offline. However, there is no facility (yet) to download an entire album in advance.

You mean only 2 songs can be listened to offline? Weird. I'm on the search for a music service that I can listen to offline via USB audio.
Love the update though.

No, to make it simple: any song that you play will be downloaded first. If you play it again, you will play from the offline cache (unless it's removed from the cache if the cache exceeds a limit you set in the cache settings in the top-right menu).

Best Settings for V30+?

Possible to add a spectrum EQ? I love seeing it, puts me in a trance :)

There's been a mini-UAPP discussion over on the Onkyo DP-X1 thread.

Here are quotes of a couple of my posts about issues with the newest UAPP on my DP-X1B -

~~~
With some experimenting, I've determined that, due to my DP-X1B being rooted and running Viper4Android, there is a conflict with the two audio drivers - because when I Exit V4A, I don't see the UAPP Error Message any longer, but I also don't hear any audio.
But, when I uninstall the V4A driver, then UAPP plays.
I guess this bit of information should be relayed to the eXtream Software Development team.
So I have a dilemma, since I rooted the DP-X1B, so that I can run Viper4Android - and I really do like the audio processing that it provides... :thinking:
~~~

...and...

~~~
While I could listen to my HiRes tracks with v4.1.4, once I updated to v4.1.5 - things broke.
Now - for Krushevo by Stefanovski & Tadic (24-Bit / 96-KHz), it's still working.
For Out of Time and Country by Descamps, Deslignes, Gomar, & Rosenberg (24-Bit / 176.4-KHz), I see the Error Message - "Failed to find or setup HiRes DAC!", if I select Settings > HiRes audio > HiRes driver flags = Offload (by itself, or with any other flag) or (None Selected).
If I select Settings > HiRes audio > HiRes driver flags = any flag or flags, other than Offload, I hear a loud static-y sound.
For Ultimate Headphone Demonstration by Chesky (24-Bit / 192-KHz), it's still working - but there seemed to be some subtle glitches when the first track started playing.
~~~

...and...

~~~
Before I updated UAPP to the v4 series, it displayed the correct track order in folder view, for the music on my microSD card(s).
Now, it seems to display the tracks in a different order.
All of the tracks I've ripped, have a title in the format: [Disc #]-[Track # (w/leading zero)] [Track Title] [[Track Artist]].flac - so UAPP should list them in numerical order, but it's not doing that any longer.
~~~

Thanks for any insight in to these issues.

Take Care,
David Baldock

Onkyo Granbeat. Finally, we are enjoying the internal DACs to the utmost. Great sound that beats the stock player. Although in Library tabs the ticks would not stay after the OK button, so it is impossible to choose what tabs you will have. Even re-installed the app to no avail.

I'd like to add another one, to the issues I've already reported (two posts above) - When I went to bed last night, I started UAPP playing a Playlist (Loop mode on), and when I woke up about 4 hours later, the app had crashed, and there was a Crash Report requester up on the screen. I filled it out, but due to blurry eyesight, I'm not sure whether I submitted the report, or cancelled the requester. Then I switched to the Onkyo Music Player app, to finish the night.
