A temporary solution to this is to create a folder in the USB card and dump all your music in there. However, I too, am facing a lot of issues with UAPP ever since updating to Android 14 on my Samsung devices.Hello All.
I am using UAPP on a Samsung S6 Lite and while I can play files from 'Device Storage', I am unable to play any files from the USB card because UAPP gives a "Unable to play files from this folder (the SD card) "To Protect Your Privacy" notification. I've tried everything I can think of to get past this but no luck.
If anyone has information on this would you pleas post it?
Thanks and Cheers,
D.
I'm facing very similar issues too. Do let us know if and when you find some sort of work around.A temporary solution to this is to create a folder in the USB card and dump all your music in there. A lot of permission issues ("There is a problem with the permissions on your system. Please open the Android setting app > Grant Special Access etc") and directory listing issues.
Album art are also now taking forever to load. Anyone has a solution to this?

Perhaps I am missing something but why would Android implement privacy restrictions that block one from playing their own files on an installed USB card?I'm presently successfully running UAPP in an old Samsung S4 tablet with the original Android operating system still installed. It works fine, with hundreds of WAV and FLAC music files downloaded into it from my PC. I would like to go to an S9 because the much faster execution speed might mean improved sonics, and because of the larger memory. I even purchased an S9, but have held back from attempting transition to the new tablet because of this potential problem, plus concern that transferring the music files from the old S4 to the S9 may corrupt something in the already elaborately set up old S4. On enquiry, Davy Wentzler at extremeswdev indicated that I would encounter this problem of the new Android version refusing to play files because of new protect privacy restrictions. He hasn't yet indicated exactly how to get around the problem.
I found the issue and the solution, thanks to Davy from eXtream Software Development team (info@audio-evolution.com).I facing very similar issues too. Do let us know if and when you find some sort of work around.
Not directly to your question BUT in addition to excelling with local file playback as you note, UAPP's ability to stream QoBuz from within the app. sounds amazing from my phone or DAP. I am sure there are other advantages to media server functionality but for me the universe of music I can access this way through UAPP is more then sufficient. Of course YMMV.Hi,
This is more or less hilarious.
If you use UAPP as a media server there is no app that can play files from the media server.
UAPP used as a client says the server is not ready. M connect can browse the files but will not play them. It might say that the file format is not supported.
If you want to browse through files from Emby (really exotic !), you will not be able to read into a subfolder.
And some remote players will not see UAPP as a renderer.
I love this app. But it is obviously meant for local playback only. Everything that is network related seems to be screwed...
Anyone else luckier than me ?

Hi,UAPP works great as a upnp player
I purchased ToneBoosters PEQ option in UAPP
I can't see anyway to have separate left and right channels parametric EQ? ie different EQ for left and right channels
Reason is I measured my speakers in my room an have different things to EQ due to assymetry
Is it possible? Can anyone help?
thanks, sent Davy an email. I hope this feature can come.I have been successfully using the 6-filter Toneboosters PEQ for quite a while in a headphone system. I could have used separate L and R filter settings, but this enhancement has not been available in my older version. My guess is that it still is not available as an option. I suggest contacting Davy at
